Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Light malty sweet aroma with hoppy fruity and grassy notes. Light sweet flavor with hoppy, piney bitter notes.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Very aromatic hoppy aroma with notes of apricot, citrus, grass and wood, rounded up with slightly sweet pale malt and a subtle grainy touch. Strong bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a bone-dry, almost astringent mouthfeel. Soft pale malty traste with an astringent and quite harsh hops character that is intriguing on the one hand but also overpowering other more subtle flavours on the other hand. Brutally dry and bitter IPA, still a likeable one (16.VIII.09).

Bottle:Hazy, pale golden, small white foamy layer; big dry foral nose, some malt in the background; solid dry bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering dry hoppy, almost piney finish, balanced by some juicy malt. Fine session brew.......

Bottle. A clear, yellowish golden pour leaves a white head. Citrus and pine dominates the aroma. There’s maltyness and a flowery and fruity note too. The flavor is much the same as the aroma, and finishes with lasting flavors of pine and resin. Medium body, and an almost stinging mouthfeel from the bitterness. One-dimentional but nice. Judging from my two different samples, it almost looks as I had two different beers, but I’m sure I haven’t. Rating: 7-3-7-3-14-3.4. (080509)

Bottle, thx to Ole_R for sharing. It pours a clear, pale golden body with a medium-sized white head. Heavy roasted malty nose, slightly coffee-ish, with some pine and peach and a heavy hoppyness. Hoppy flavor with pine and resin, as well as some coffee and a balancing maltyness. Full-bodied and with a long hoppy finish. Very malty for an IPA, more like a hopped-up scotch ale, but I like it. My Bottom Line:
This floral IPA’s silky mouthfeel is conducive to showing off its lightly honeyed cereals and poignant leafy bitterness, as well as facilitating the largest gulps.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the hazy blond.
-The hop aroma is not explosive à la West Coast-style IPA...with a text on the label that nearly plagiarizes Arrogant Bastard and a name like Punk IPA, I have to say I was expecting a West Coast-style IPA.
-This bottle is a tad undercarbonated, which might emulate the cask mouthfeel Scots are used to?
-The lingering hop bitterness is leafy as well as resinous.
-The sweet cereals are present throughout even though they do not contribute tons of flavors.
-Dried tropical fruitiness stems from the union of potent hopping and sweet cereals.

Bottle; batch 135, best before 10/08/2009.

Thanks to magic_dave for providing this one for me. Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells perfumy with some grassy hints and touches of dry malt. Tastes lightly bitter and grassy with some elements of citrus and grapes. Finish is crisp and dry. Excellent!

Very pale hazy beer with a thick sticky white head. The aroma is lightly woody and herbal with a bit of light lemon peel and a touch of spicy/fruity Goldings. There is a fairly nice berryish flavour over the crackery malts as well. The hops in here are quite zesty and citrusy with an almost Belgiany character coming out. Crisp and crackery with a touch of astringency toward the finish. There may be a touch of soapiness, but it isn’t too objectionable. Pretty solid brew really.

Not a bad brew, but it seems more like an aggresive APA to me. It pours a clear golden body with a creamy white head and slippery lacing. The aroma is of tropical fruit with a floral undertone. The flavor has sweet grainy malts, pineapple and other fruit, countered by a growing hoppy bitterness, mainly floral and grassy in nature with a touch of citric zest. Nice finish, bitter and dry. Seems more like a sessionable pale ale overall, but pretty decent.
