Commercial Description:
A beer of inherent contradiction. This heavy weight of the beer world is strikingly delicate with a white gold appearance. The light fruity aroma dominates the initial confrontation; lychee, kiwi and passionfruit all prevail with subtle nuances of cherry and strawberry. Don’t be fooled however by this smooth medium bodied ale. As it trickles down your throat as this wolf in sheep’s clothing begins to grow teeth. The bite comes as the bitterness builds and endures no matter how hard the malty sweetness of the alcohol tries to tame this ferocious beast.

Bottle. Eathy, with some slight floral hops. Dry, bitter, and more malty than expected, but with some nice juicy citric hops in the finish. A nice IPA, but probably a little less hoppy than i was expecting. Still, this was good.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pale golden, low lacing head. Nice floral hop nose. Medium to light body. A bit cookie malt, focus on the big hops: Pine, grass, seaweed, tropical fruits. Dry puckering hop finish, earthy aftertaste. Nice.

Did not plan to have another brew tonight, but with the site back open to me I feel obliged. LIght hazed golden color with a island looking lid with some islands on the rim and some bigger bubbles adrift in the middle. Real English aroma with Golden Promise or Marris Otter coming to mind. Some aged hops as well, with hopsack scent prevalent. Some fruit, floral and yeasty scents are also quite noticeable. Somewhat dull feel in that there is not much life, acts more like a cask ale (not sure if good or bad). Mild honey and big english malt flavors. Just read the bottle and not really understanding the post modern classic inference. Middle has a rather biting hops bitterness with a weed/herbal component that carries well into the linger. Finish is dry and only a slight bit of fruitiness. Seems quite traditional to me.

Bottled. Clear golden, average head. Aroma of orange, hay and lychee. Sweet, medium to full bodied, perfumy and yeasty. Lightly fruity with buttery malt profile, but the tough American style hop levels makes it a completely hop driven beer. Lingering very bitter finish.

Bottled:
Pours clear golden with a firm head. Pine, citrus and hops on the nose. Surprisingly thin mouth feel. Flavour is loads of fruity hops. Really long bitterness.

Aroma is orange, pine and some malt, hazy yellow, tiny white head. Flavour again is orange, pine and some fine malt. Very bitter, bold, resiny. Great!

Bottle. Still golden beer with a light head. The aroma is very well hopped and the flavour is very well hopped and very bitter at the finish. Overall a reasonable beer.

London Shindig, August 2007 Very hoppy, like an aggressive American IPA. Hot, sweet and burning hops. Too much. Too extreme. Hard to take. Not my thing. [1.0]
Feb, 2009 I’ve been consuming a lot of this stuff recently thanks to an offer at Tesco of £1 a bottle. And I’ve really been enjoying it. I have found it much softer than the beer I encountered at Chriso’s place in 2007. The hops are not aggressive at all - the dominance here is the malt, and this doesn’t taste like the same beer at all. The hops come over as salty and flowery rather than burning. There’s a lingering awareness in the finish, but quite smooth. This is a very drinkable and pleasant beer. Different time, different place, I think I’ve had over a dozen of these recently, and have enjoyed them all. [3.5]
