4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Experimental version, courtesy of Glenn at Alvinne. Thanks Glenn!
Bright and clear yellow/orange color with a large white head that settles quickly to reveal moderate lacing.
Aroma starts with sulphur, which clears rapidly and reveals notes of sour apple and malt.
Flavor begins with sour apple and progresses through floral hoppiness to a bitter finish.
Nice example of the style, more subtle than American versions. Worth trying.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at BrewDog Camden, London. Pours clear, vibrant gold with a small, white foam head. Nose holds some subtle, spicy yeast, doughy malts and hints of straw and grass. Flavor is light to medium sweet and the bitterness is mellow. There are plenty of bready malts in here, perhaps enhanced by the light yeast notes. Also some toast and light grass. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Crisp and lightly sticky to finish with more bready, lightly doughy malts, faintly toasty, with mild spicy yeast, light alcohol and toasty sugar. Slightly dry in the end. Nothing special, this.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at White Horse, Parson’s Green. Definitely an estery yeast aroma. Definitely Punk in the mouth. Not a bad mix, a peachy grapefruit IPA. Probably the best thing at this festival

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Patricks. An unclear, orange colored beer with a dense finger thick off-white head leaving curtains. The aroma is on the hoppy side, sugary too, with lots of tropical fruits. Some orange peel and a little peppery touch. It’s sweet on the palate, with a balancing bitterness. Orange peel, pine cones and some pale malts. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Long finish. There’s a tad too much yeast flavour here, else it’s a fine one. 130919
