It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

0.33l bottle. Pours a black body with a gigantic -but quickly fading creamy beige head. Nose is quite fresh and fruity with hops, sugar and some mocca hints. Really nice. Lots of dark roasted malts, some brown sugar sweetness, chocolate and of course - heavy on the hops as usual.. A really nice imp stout from the hopy Scots.

Warning! Early amateur rating! A dark complex beer. Dry palate and some harshness is offset by fruitiness and sumptuous strength. Sure this was a draft pint !

Bottle purchased from Tiffany’s in Kalamazoo, Mich., and poured into a pint glass. Taste is predominantly dark fruit. This beer may be enjoyed by some, but not me. Definitely not my thing.

Pours black with almost no head. Aromas of coffee and some burnt malt. light bodied with no carbonation. A very average beer!!

Bottle (330ml): Smells of a mixture of dried summer fruits & raisins along with roasted malts & hints of coffee. Dark ruby in colour with a large, brown head with a few bubble holes dotted around the sides & at the top. The head is quite foamy & lasts well. Hints of dried fruit to begin with although the dominate taste is the strong coffee flavour that definitely sticks around as an aftertaste. There is also roasted barely in there as well. The flavours are a little strong for my taste however. Rather smooth with light carbonation, I would say this one was medium bodied although slightly watery. Not what I expected at all. The 8% abv is well hidden in both the smell & taste although the overwhelming coffee taste was too much for me to enjoy this one. (See my full review at http://abarwithnoname.wordpress.com)

A well balanced stout. Black, with a brown head. Aroma is full of coffee, nuts, alcoholic hints. Peat is also perceived. Rather strong sweetness and bitterness with a very light salty taste. Medium to full body, warm mouthfeel. Great job.

So brilliant this one... pitch black, nice creamy broke white head... aroma has lots of hops, later on becomes darker, smokier.... taste is intensly bitter, later on more sweet, it has hops, smoke, coffey, some bitter fruit (grapefuit?)... finish is long, bitter, smokey... this liquid has a nice oily feel in the mouth, not that lively though... awesome thing about is is that it has opnly 8pct alchohol, how the hell did brewdog create such a complex beer this low on alchohol? one of the best brewdogs i’ve had so far
