It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

This was my first experience with Brew Dog. Enjoyed via stifter from bottle. Ale pours a very dark and fluid, almost no head upon pouring. Taste is sweet, some hop flavor, notes of toffee, caramel and maybe some oak flavor. Overall not too bad. Would have enjoyed a heavier texture though.

Pours a near-black body with an off-white, quickly disappearing head. Nose is very hoppy and fruity, compared to most other stouts, with some notes of coffee thrown in for good measure. Taste is equally hoppy, with strong parts cough syrup and coffee. Rolls nice on the palate, with that little characteristic hop sting in the aftertaste that has become BrewDogs trademark "bite" on almost anything they have. No great discoveries, but a very decent brew indeed.

mmmm.... warm, chocolatey, malty warmness, whiskey tones floating throughout. A lovely scotch whiskey aftertaste lingers for so long you almost don’t notice the lovely bitter tang of the hops. This is damn near perfect.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body, kinda light in color for the style, with a very small fizzy light brown head that faded rather quickly. The nose is roasty and chocolaty, but there’s a weird metallic quality to the hops that doesn’t sit well with me. The flavor is rather harshly roasty with a slightly burnt rubber note on the finish. The roast and chocolate that’s supposed to be there just isn’t. A light hint of alcohol on the finish lingers on after the rubber fades. Medium bodied, rather heavy on the tongue with a syrupy clinginess on the finish. Soft fine carbonation level. There wasn’t a whole about this one that I liked. Thank goodness I didn’t grab the bigger bottle size.

Bomber from local. Pours an opaque black with a tan head. Pour is seemingly thin. Burnt coffee aroma with dark fruit, chocolate, and malt. Body is medium/thin with low carbonation. Dark roasted malt flavor goes well with the bitter cocoa and dark fruits. Fairly sweet with a distinct roasty quality. Not very complex but nice.
