COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled.
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself.
This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster.
Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

NOTE: This beer and Old World Russian Imperial Stout ARE definitely the same beer. Direct, verbatim quote from James Watt follows.
""This is Rip Tide in a 660ml that we made exclusively for Total Wine and More (a US chain). By offering them something unique we were able to ensure they listed Punk and Hardcore

Opaque inky black with fluffy tan head that dissipates. Smells of roasted malt, roasted coffee bean, some vanilla and booze. Taste is coffee, burnt malt, caramel, light spice and wood. Body is on the thin side, roasted and bitter with a hint of lemon. Deep and roasted and quite fine - not at all thick. Very tasty. Had it alongside the Founders Stout (which I love) and this made that taste more sour.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Pitch black pour, 1 finger tan foamy head. Aroma is sharp boozy, roasted malt, a bit of raisin. Taste is big and roasty with booziness, good amount of bitterness. Sharp and complex. Really solid imperial stout that's got lots going on while still being very drinkable.

330ml bottle from cellar, BBF 2011. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a brown head. Roasted, quite complex, developed aroma, chocolate, coffee, licorice, tar, caramel, hops, earth, ashes, faint smoke. Off-dry, full bodied, mid to high bitterness, creamy CO2. Roasted, complex, developed taste, chocolate, coffee beans, licorice, tar, iodine, ashes, hops. Quite nice, holds together pretty well after such a long time in the cellar. Finishes a tiny bit dry/astringent, but otherwise pretty well balanced. (2015-02-03)
