Batch 001 BB 03/03/09. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, coffee, and a littel earthy. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, molasses, roast, a lighter earthiness, and some caramel. CapnCascade (28), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 29, 2008 Pours black, hint of brown or ruby, moderate light brown head with some retention. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate, hints of yeast and burnt sugar. Flavour is sweet and very chocolatey with a noticeably dry roasty/hoppy finish that has prominent notes of dark coffee. Thinner body than I would have expected for the style, but with an extraordinarily smooth mouthfeel that more than makes up for it. A cute chocolate monster indeed!
