COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2008 Biggish brown head does not last. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Roasty rye grain aroma with chocolatey milky notes. Sweet-dry (mostly sweet) grainy roasty chocolate taste, quite dense, with peppery hop notes. Broad, full mouthfeel, with some alcohol heat. Dry burnt alcoholic chocolate aftertaste. Very good! (0.33l bottle, Olutkellari, Helsinki.)

Bottle from the brewery. Almost pitch black, low carbonation. Coffee, some smokiness, warming glow. Nice chocolaty aftertaste.

Black with a fizzy tan head. Mild malty chocolate aroma. Roasty, slight fruit, and watery chocolate taste. Not as robust as I would like for an 8% stout.

"341." Thanks, Thewolf! Clearly they have the american market at least somewhat in mind if they’re filling true 12-oz blanks rather than 330s...or maybe I just like to read into things. :-)
Black. Thin off-white foamy head. Sugary, rather molassesy nose. Nice creamy body on the high side of medium. Rich roasty sweet mid-palate. Big charcoal near the finish.

Bottle (330ml) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very dark brown with red hues and a small diminishing tan head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Some chocolate and a nice bitter finish to the dry flavour. Alcohol’s well hidden. Medium bodied. A simple yet pleasant Impy Stout, very good stuff.

Almost black with reddish glare, small tan head, notes of chocolate and cocoa in the nose. Roasted coffee, chocolate and some hops with notes of dark fruits. Alcohol is well hidden. Bitter finish and pleasant long-lasting aftertaste. Enjoyable stout.

DuffMan (4242) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 30, 2008
Pours a clear dark walnut brown, moderate tan coloured head. Very roasty aroma, chocolate, dark caramel. Burnt malt, dark caramel, coffee and chocolate, medium bodied. Very bitter, reedy finish. More like a foreign stout than an impy IMO, but decent nonetheless.
