COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Bottle.
Pours a rich, void-of-light jet black with a nice cream head. Aroma is marshmallow, chocolate, cocoa, and a hint of roasted malt. Flavor is ta,e sweet peaty chocoloate powder and bitter roasted malt. Nice mouthfeel but it fails to leave a lasting impression. Not shabby, but could use some more assertiveness.

Nose is chocolate with a hint of coffee, ebony, red at the sides, small toffee head. Taste is bitter chocolate, some fine malt, reminds me of chocolate chip cookies. Very nicely balanced, medium bodied, pleasantly sweet. Great!

330 ml bottle. Finland. Almost black with small tan head. Roasted, coffee, nuts aroma. Flavour is more liquorice than coffee and roasted malts. Some alcohol as well. Mouthfeel is nice, thick and smooth.

Bottle looks good as well as the beer in the glass. Starts roasty-malty, spicy notes and some notes of coffee. Finish gets drier, but still wonderful roasty-malty, quite drinkable. I like it!

98% opaque, very dark body. All the requisite elements of an imperial stout combining in a very drinkable and smooth profile--nothing harsh, nothing astringent, very moderate hopping (much to my liking in the Impy style, unlike some American versions). The palate isn’t ramped up as much as it might be, but otherwise this is a very likable Impy. Bottle.

From bottle. Rich malty aroma with tons of molasses and chocolate. A bit of rubber-sulfur in there, but not a detraction. Coffee and smoky notes, with little in the way of hops. Dark brown-black clear with no head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation and a bit of alcohol warming. Starts sweet with tons of molasses, chocolate, patent malt bitterness, and roasted barley. Sweet chocolatey finish with some Twizzlers and coffee. Bitter after, nutty and a bit astringent. Decent stout.
