Batch 4. The beer pours to a dark cola colored body with a large soap bubble-like off-tan head. The aroma is very grainy and brownie like. Oatmeal and lots of liquid chocolate. Very distinctly dessert like. The flavor is rich chocolate syrup, oatmeal, rye, and lots of Scotch like things going on. Tastes like an organic beer but its good unlike most organic beers. Very clean flavors. Palate is nicely refreshing and not heavy. Very nicely subtle dry roasty malts and subtle hops.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Marko (2977) - Split, CROATIA - OCT 19, 2009
Poured a black body with a small white tan/gray head. Light chocolatey nose, malty notes. Sweet, soft taste, coffee mostly, roasty, clashing with a strong hop bitterness found in the end and going long into the aftertaste. Alcohol very well hidden. Not too complex but nice.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention bubbles as it recedes leaving bubble lacing. Yoohoo aromas. Thin with big dark chocolate and mocha upfront thining out even more to a slightly tinny, lasting Yoohoo finish. Yogi would like this one.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 PilsnerPeter (2958) - Flushing, New York, USA - JUN 22, 2008
Bottle: Amber brown pour with a bubbly tan head. (This is Imperial?) Soft malty aroma. Dark grains, milky chocolate and a hint of coffee roast. Light body. Mildly roasted flavor with a soft malt presence. Hint of coffee, sour dough and a mild chocolate finish. Not bad, but also not an Imperial Stout.

330 ml bottle. Dark brown body, close to black with a fine creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate, dark malt with citric and pine hops. Flavor is balanced sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, citric fruit and pine with a very pleasant hoppy finish. This is a very nice and fruity imperial stout topped with a rich and complex hop flavor. Simply extremly smooth, tasty, quaffable and fantastic – love it.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JCB (2918) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 28, 2008
Bottle from Warehouse Beverage, Cleveland Heights. A relatively powerful hit on the wallet, but hey it had a good ways to travel. The pour isn’t as thick as one might expect but it’s oily black with some decent carbonation in there (appropriate given the style I’d say) and a substantial dusky head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma, just a bit more roasts in the flavor (and a surprising amount of booziness given that it’s a relatively modest 8% abv - modest for the style at least). Definitely an interesting variation - could we call this an imperial dry stout? Nice beer.
