Smell is roasty, coffee, leather, malts, and smoke. Look is clear dark brown to back in color. Taste is roasty, coffee, chocolate, super roasty almost too much so, with some dried fruits thrown in.

One pint 6.4 oz bottle purchased from Spirits RB. Pours a thin dark black with a small white soapy head, not attractive in any means. Aroma was very weak and seemed to be a stout light. Notes of weak charcoal, burnt malts, cola and black olive juice. The body was thin and watery and closing in on becoming flat, ugh. The flavor was about as good, or bad, as the aroma with some weak cola, soy, tobacco leaves and roasted malts. Wow.......either I got the worst bottle of Riptide ever made or this is of the most overpriced and overrated beers I have ever had.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TURDFERGUSON (2482) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Bottle shared by Lee. Thanks bro! Dark brown with a small tan head, decent legs and lace. Nose is light roast, lemon, salt, caramel, cocoa, hops. Flavor is lightly bitter, light sweetness, some booze. Pretty understated for a Brewdog beer and really not thick enough to really be considered a RIS or a regular stout for that matter.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Finn (2459) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAY 18, 2008
Gravity at Reading Beer Festival 2 May 08. Sweet aroma of prunes. Rich flavor of fruits with prunes dominating. A dry bitterness kicking in after a while.

22.4oz bottle. Random, right? Very dark brown with a light beige head that dissipates. Licorice, chocolate, and wet paper aroma. The flavor has sweet licorice, lightly roasted malt and modest bitterness. Pretty mellow. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not much going on here, but I can see why this would be a good barrel candidate.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2445) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 19, 2009
From a 750 ml bottle this poured a very dark garnet red that looked nearly black in the glass and raised a big tan head and left fat tan lacing rings behind as it slowly settled. Very attractive. The nose is roasted malts with chocolate, mild coffee, and some ripe fruit. Very rich and smooth mouthfeel is a delight on the tongue. The flavor is heavy on the roasted chocolate malts and there is some floral hop bitterness. Bitter finish. A very well crafted beer that is remarkably easy to drink. Good to the last drop.
