COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

(22.4oz bottle, best by 7/7/09) Small tan head atop cola dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/roast, some bittersweet chocolate, anise, light cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, roast/coffee, some smoke, faint anise. Some alcohol in the finish. Low carbonation, medium-full body, some stickiness. Very nice take, not as brash as the style has tended toward in recent years.

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2008 Bottle, thx to KnutAlbert. Pours an almost black body, with a small, tan head. Molasses, coffee, mocha and some salty licorice in the aroma. Really pleasant. The flavor has a slightly salty touch, with molasses, coffee, mocha, some chocolate and lots of delicious, hoppy bitterness. Full-bodied, silky and smooth in the mouth, finishing both hop-bitter and coffee-bitter. Delicious. Rating: 8-4-8-4-16-4. (080216)

Bottle. A really dark brown beer with a minimal beige head. Chocolate, some coffee and some hops in the background of the aroma. The flavor is coffee-bitter, with chocolate, roasted malt and some hoppy bitterness. Medium body and a finish with both coffee and hop bitterness and some chocolate. The beer is quite nice, but doesn’t stand out. Actually, it felt a bit boring. (080620)

The flavour is soft and smooth with a very nice roasty maltiness and comfortable bitterness, dark chocolate, alcohol and some liquorice. Thanks a lot for this beer yespr!

Bottle. [thanks to the parents for bringing this home!]
Pours a deep, deep brown, almost non-seethrough. A smallish beige head on top, fizzing away rather quickly. Aroma has liquoirice, roasted malts and chocolate. Nice and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit alcohol, some mild chocolate tones, roasted malts, dry cocoa. Rather simply perhaps, but very nice. Gets much better as it heats up.
