COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2010 Bottle that I just bought but best by says 004 09/09/09, so I suppose that means this bottle is quite old. Pours a clear watery darker cola color with a thin bubbly head. Aroma has some nice fruity floral notes overtop straight licorice, fruit snacks, just a hint of chocolate, very round smelling. Flavor follows, round, floral licorice with some dark chocolate roast showing up towards the finish. Has a nice doughy yeast component that adds a little something I suppose, but again flowers and licorice, soft round and drinkable. Medium bodied, watery, light larger carbonation with a slight sizzle. Very unique, would love to try a fresh one as it’s probably pretty hoppy. This is not a bad beer by any means, it’s just not going to compete with traditional impys ratings wise. Become more chocolatey at room temp, also seemingly a bit more viscous.

Sampled on the RBSG bus, courtesy of Dr Bill. Pours a deep dark brown with aroma of nuts, dark bread, rasien, and caramel. Medium bodied but thin texture for an imperial stout. Flavor of caramel, wet grains, nuts, chocolate, and peat. Finish dry and slightly astringent, and somewhat boozy as well. This did not seem like an impy to me,

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a very dark brown with garnet highlights and a medium sized beige head. The aroma is very sweet malt with fruits. What seems to be missing is the roasted malt. The flavor does pick up a nice roasted quality. It is still on the sweeter side with dark fruits, chocolate, char and light smoke. This seems a bit thinner than most imperial stouts. Enjoyable; much more so than any of the Paradox beers.

This poured a black color with a beige head. The aroma contains some coffee, chocolate, and licorice. The flavor is rather bitter with some licorice, coffee, and chocolate. An odd gritty aftertaste. Overall a decent stout but not a great Impy.

Bottle, thanks Frylock. Dark brown, some light shines through. Nose is caramel, dark honey, rich dark malts, alcohol. Flavor is rich malt, roasty & lightly burnt. Some tobacco. Lingering toffee/caramel finish with nice bitterness.
