COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Bottle from Belmont Party. Poured a clear dark brown color with a large frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Heavy bittersweet roasted malty flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a very good beer.

Deep brown colour. Aroma is a bit strange. Lightly briny and salty. A bit of peat with a touch of molasses. Flavour is oddly thin and watery. A touch of coffee. Meh... pretty bad.

CaptainCougar (6749) - Boz Scaggsville, Maryland, USA - DEC 30, 2008
Pours a nearly opaque black with dark copper edges and a thin, spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt with some roasted notes and a healthy dose of peat. Starts a little thin for the style, but has a decent amount of dark malty sweetness with some strong roasty bitter balance before a smoky, peaty, dark chocolate finish. Pretty smooth, yet complex and very drinkable. An interesting take on the style.

Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 20, 2009
A deep dark stout with a thin off white head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, dust, dark fruits, and fruity esters. In mouth, a nice lightly sweet chocolate, milkey, smooth, lightly hopped but sustained burned bitterness. A bit lighter bodied than expected. Not bad. Bieropholie Imports, BB 10-02-10.

Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 21, 2011
Test vom 28.3.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,11,11,10,10 - 10,50

Coca-Cola coloured, no head. Grassy, mossy, very few real stout aroma’s. Sweetish liquorice flavour, wood, plywood flavours, working to a peppery stout. Medium bodied, very slick, even oily. Quite nice stout, not too strong, but very flavourfull.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2009 Cask conditioned - handpump - Derby BF. A black beer with a slight beige colourede head. The aroma is smoky and roasty with a fishy character. The taste is roasty and malty, but there are good hops too. A big beer with smoky roasty malts. Very tasty.Score 4.1
