COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled.
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself.
This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster.
Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

NOTE: This beer and Old World Russian Imperial Stout ARE definitely the same beer. Direct, verbatim quote from James Watt follows.
""This is Rip Tide in a 660ml that we made exclusively for Total Wine and More (a US chain). By offering them something unique we were able to ensure they listed Punk and Hardcore

bad ass art worked bomber labeled as old wold russian impy... redirected here but this is obviously Brew Dog. Is this a side contract like the IPA w/ same style art? Digression. Heavy weight black stout w/ coffee head. Nose is hops. Surprisingly hoppy but malts fo sho. Silky w/ so subtle of a slight coffee roast. Still, ends hoppy. SO is this Rip Tide w/ better Art? $6.

Bottle - 355ml. Pours an opaque black body with a lasting beige creamy head. Complex, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate hints. Taste carries roasty and vineous notes. Ends with a robust, moderately warming bitter/roasty finish. Well done.

Bottle from Swords Vic Market. Full marks. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and rum. Taste is sweet and bitter, with long length. Palate is syrupy and full bodied. Black, with a frothy off-white head.

Poured from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a slightly-thick, watery black color with a very big foamy/creamy dark tan head that had great retention, and good lacing and cling. Its aroma had a rich chocolate and coffee malt mix along with some roasty molasses and light caramel, and a bit of earthy and grainy hops. The taste was a roasty sweet chocolate and coffee blend with a sour-bitter earthy undertone, light licorice notes, and a dark sweetness. It had a watery, wet body with average carbonation, and a lighter/thinner mouthfeel, and became more dry as it sat.

Tap at Brewdog Brum. Black. Nice head fluff. Smells live a greased palm, or a box of Terry’s All Gold. Drinks with a stern finish: graphite, leather, vinyl. Easy to swig, with a bitter tang that lasts and also lasts.

Great beer. Dark, almost black, has an off-white head, lasting. Aroma is dark, roasted, notes of sweet port/ruby. Faint-faint lactic acid too. Flavor starts sweet, dark, faint dark chocolate and bitter coffee. Some awesome grain-touch too. Creamy, syrupy texture, well, dry too. Flat carbonation.
