Batch 4. The beer pours to a dark cola colored body with a large soap bubble-like off-tan head. The aroma is very grainy and brownie like. Oatmeal and lots of liquid chocolate. Very distinctly dessert like. The flavor is rich chocolate syrup, oatmeal, rye, and lots of Scotch like things going on. Tastes like an organic beer but its good unlike most organic beers. Very clean flavors. Palate is nicely refreshing and not heavy. Very nicely subtle dry roasty malts and subtle hops.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, mahogany colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet and roasty malty aroma with notes of anise, caramel, berry fruits and a tinge of noble hops. Roasty bitter flavour with a present and rounded malty sweetness, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Robust roast-malty, slightly molassy taste with caramel, chocolate and a tinge of anise spice; sweet and roast-bitter finish with warming alcoholic notes and a light but aromatic hoppy tail. Complex and superb brew. 24.XII.09

Pours a very dark brown/blackish color body, clearish. Small frothy whitish head. Strong sweet aroma, dark grape and malty. Not too strong. Alcoholy taste, with chocolatey, coffee aftertaste. Somewhat watery palate.

Bottle bought today at Nikki’s Liquors in Providence RI, a little pricey at $12 but its the first time I’ve seen any brew dog in the US for sale. Poured into a port glass. Pours dark brown/black with a big nice 2 finger tanish head. Nose is sweet and dry and much like a dry stout not so much the nose of any imperial stout I recognize. Taste is certainly bigger, really a big big big malty coffee burnt taste. Its rather good, but certainly different and somewhat funky fresh. I like it, I’m wondering how the IPAs are. Good beer.
