It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself. This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster. Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

Taste courtesy Hopscotch. Blackish red pour with little head. Roasty grain aroma with sweet malt and just a hint of whiskey. Roasted grains, chocolate malt and hint of hops in the taste. Big and ballsy very assertive malt and very much like an after dinner drink.

Cask @ The Rake / Bottle from Utobeer. Very dark brown almost black with pale brown head. Aroma is pretty malty, nutty, syrupy. Taste is chocolate, caramel, roast coffee with dryish bitter finish. This gets better as it warms. Very enjoyable.

330 ml Bottle. Dark brown color with ruby some ruby highlight. Medium sized, creamy brown head with good retention. Aroma of dark grapes, black currant with some smooth roasted or slightly smokey edge. The first impression is a very vinous, port-like chacacter. After then it shows up its roasted, dry, coffee/cocoa bean character. The aftertaste seemed really smokey to me. The alcohol is well-hidden, the body is a bit light for the style, the texture is also a bit watery. But i have no reason to complain, it was a very tasty imperial-stout.

Bottle. The aroma is light sweet and malty. The beige creamy small head has a normal duration, the body is black. The taste is malty, bitter, some dark chocolate. The body is medium strong, dry and creamy with a soft carbonation.

Been awhile since I tasted this. From the notes I made I can only see I liked the dark color and the taste was better than I expected. Palate was good, full body finish.
