Cask & Bottled.
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself.
This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster.
Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

NOTE: This beer and Old World Russian Imperial Stout ARE definitely the same beer. Direct, verbatim quote from James Watt follows.
""This is Rip Tide in a 660ml that we made exclusively for Total Wine and More (a US chain). By offering them something unique we were able to ensure they listed Punk and Hardcore

Black as night, as it should be. But there was no head at all - just a few bubbles. There are some chocolate notes, but not in an overly sweet way. Itís somewhat dry, and the flavor is dominated by roasted malts. Adequate level of hops for balance. Itís a decent stout, but thereís nothing "imperial" about it. Itís not very "twisted" or "merciless" either. I expected a lot more.

Cozy, but clear smell; like sweet vegetables and honey. Alcohol-intensive with hints of dark chocolate, prunes and pipe tobacco. The aftertaste is very local in the back end of the palate, and is smoky.

Pours a pitch black body with a beige head. A smoky aroma and a lightly bitter taste. The finish slowly kicks in with hints of coffee and chocolate.

Strong, tastey and delicious. It has a heavy body and a gentle bite. Smell like flowers, but thats a joke before you zaste it.

Svart med tynt skum. lukt med lakris og kaffe. samme i smaken med litt tÝrket aprikos. Litt bitterhet i ettersmaken. God varme fra alkoholen.

Black with small tan head. Aroma has roasted malt and milk chocolate. Flavour has more dark roast, a little licorice and sweetness with moderately bitter ending. A touch too sweet for me.

A pitch black oily body covered by a surprisingly well-lasting brown head. Nose has sweet aromas of chokolate, roasted malts, coffee and a hint of liquorice. Taste is sweet with a heavy dry roastiness to it, the finish is bitter. Carbonation is quite low and the palate feels nice and rich. Alcohol presence is there but not in a harsh way. Very nice.

coloração muito escura, preta, quase sem espuma. Aroma fraco, após mexer a cerveja no copo, aroma ácido e meio azedo. Sabor de cafe, muito forte. Carregada e alcoólica. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of Brewdogís classics, with pale beige head and very dark burgundy colour, near black. Powerful aroma of cocoa powder, raisins, liquorice, dates, coffee; full and creamy palate, oily, sweet and spicy (liquorice again), increasingly dryer and roasted bitter, concentrated and dense, with warming alcohol in the finish, complex and nowhere astringent. Delightful imperial stout.

330ml brown bottle poured into a Snifter glass. Appearance is opaque brownish black with a medium sized foamy tan head with good retention. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee. Flavours of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and a hint of vanilla and muscovado. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is full bodied, slightly syrupy texture and soft carbonation. BrewDog Riptide is a good, but compared to the breweries other Imperial Stouts, this lacks character and personality, is therefore somewhat forgettable.

Coffee, chocolate, dried fruits and roasted malts in the aroma. Black with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a soft carbonation. Overall a delicious Stout, smooth in the mouth, rich in flavour and some warming alcohol in the finish.
