COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled.
It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself.
This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster.
Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

NOTE: This beer and Old World Russian Imperial Stout ARE definitely the same beer. Direct, verbatim quote from James Watt follows.
""This is Rip Tide in a 660ml that we made exclusively for Total Wine and More (a US chain). By offering them something unique we were able to ensure they listed Punk and Hardcore

1 pint, 6.4 oz bottle (thanks Chris). Definitely an underrated beer here. There’s quite a few good things going on here. Dark, toffee/caramel grain malt is a big player in the aroma. Some other nutty malts, chocolate cookie, and some woody earth as well. Nicely balance smell. A light layer of creamy cream head that dissipates almost entirely, a medium-thick body, and a straight midnight black color. A medium-thick feel in the body as well with a nice creamy and strong balanced body. Although the abv may be low, this is a very drinkable imp stout. The flavor profile is simple, but well balanced with very high quality English malts. Nutty, dark cookie grain malts, cocoa, light wood, earth, with a very pleasant dark bittersweet malt finish. Again, this is very underrated in my opinion. Really a very pleasant and drinkable take on a imperial stout. I liked this quite a bit.

Great beer. Dark, almost black, has an off-white head, lasting. Aroma is dark, roasted, notes of sweet port/ruby. Faint-faint lactic acid too. Flavor starts sweet, dark, faint dark chocolate and bitter coffee. Some awesome grain-touch too. Creamy, syrupy texture, well, dry too. Flat carbonation.

Bottle. Beautiful, bog head. Aroma of dark chocolate, filled with some marzipan, bots of cherries and bananas and roasted grain. Faint alcoholic note that manages to be more assertive in the taste. Moderately bodied, subtly sweet, rather roasted-bitter, slightly tart taste. Roasted finish with notes of marzipan and solvent. On the upside, I like the roasted, chocolate and fruit flavour and the creamy carbonation. The solvent notes are problematic though.
