It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself.
This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster.
Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

NOTE: This beer and Old World Russian Imperial Stout ARE definitely the same beer. Direct, verbatim quote from James Watt follows.

22-oz bottle. This is not the kind of in your face imperial stout that I often encounter. It is more like an aggressive version of the traditional british stout. Color is dark brown with very little head with a soapy, lasting lace. Aroma is lactose, chocolate, coffee, intense roast, and alcohol. The alcohol bothered me at first. I swished it around quite a bit to let it breathe. Mouthfee is very smooth - the flavor is extremely roasty, with a lot of coffee character - some sweet chocolate malts ride through the middle, with a bit of plum and dark berry fruitiness as well - but a strong bitterness comes from behind that, making the other characteristics aside from the roastiness disappear from the palate pretty fast - the bitterness lasts quite some time through the finish, but the alcohol never presented itself as I had expected it would. - the dryness and bitterness work well in this one, and I kind of find it refreshing to have an impy that isn’t so over the top. It is one of my very favorites now.

Bottle @home, proudly celebrating St Andrews Day. Pours opaque black, with rich creamy lasting beige head. Full body, excellent lacing, dry bitter finish, strong bitter aftertaste, smooth oily rich mouthfeel, average carbonation. Strong aromas and tastes of roasted barley, coffee, dark chocolate, dried fruits, cherries, citrus peel, brown sugar. Long lasting chocolate notes. Very good!

Aromat: kawa, porto, czekolada gorzka, melasa, paloność, alkohol. Raczej wytrawnie.

Wygląd: barwa czarna, pod światło rubinowa, wydaje się klarowna. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, obfita i dość trwała. Ładnie oblepia szkło.

Smak: lekka słodycz, złamana kwaskowością i wytrawne nuty palonych słodów - kawa, czekolada gorzka, lekka paloność, melanoidyny, melasa, nuty winne oraz alkohol. Goryczka w okolicach średniej, głównie słodowa, lekko ziołowa, nieco drażniąca, umiarkowanie długa. Krągła pełnia, umiarkowane wysycenie i słodowo- winna końcówka. Całkiem udane piwo.

8%abv. Purchased at Doghouse, Merchant City. Nice coffee chocolate aroma, black colour with medium brown head. Bitter and alcohol taste with bitter finish. Decent imperial stout but Cocoa Psycho is way better.

W aromacie głównie czekolada, nieco palności i likier. Warka do 26.05.2020

Nero impenetrabile, bel cappello di schiuma marrone di lunga durata. Odore tostato, caramello, caffč, cioccolato, liquirizia, liquore. Molto corposa, oleosa, pastosa. Sapore come in aroma: tostato, caffč, cioccolato, liquirizia. Alcool nascosto bene. Amaro finale lungo.

Brown bottle, 330ml, cork and cask. Pours dense black with a medium brown tan head subsiding slowly. Scent is medium smoked stout with light caramel and toffee hints. Taste is slightly spicy with a nice earthy, grape, wine feeling. Mouth feel is nice and dense, viscous and not oily or syrup. Finish us a light ethanol. Great.

Very dark pour - almost black, with a light brown head. Tastes of strong coffee and dark fruits. Strong beer, but not overly alcoholic. Hangs on the palate like a good whiskey. Great beer.
