A nice aroma of caramel, wood, honey and malt. The taste didn’t do much for me though, just sweet and herbal, very one-dimensional. Some spices in the finish.

Bottle at Frog Fest, 29/05/16. Rich mahogany brown with a well appointed tan cap of bubbles. Nose is rich malt, caramel gloop, honey, biscuit crumble, fruit esters. Taste comprises treacle toffee, light herbal notes, spice, rich malt base, biscuit base, earthy fruit notes. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close with a light bitter edge. Not bad.

Poured dark brown with a large caramel head that dissipated very quickly. Smell was that of burnt caramel and spices. The taste was rather bitter. I expected more

Pours dark brown to black with an off-white thin to medium head and subtle carbonation. Aroma isn’t the best with some plastic, liquorice, peaty, dark caramel notes, with very light spice. Taste is thin, bitter with a slightly medicinal finish. Not one of their best and certainly didn’t live up to the over-hyped billing.

Poured dark brown from the bottle with a frothy head that lasted all of 30 seconds. Not a lot snoutwise- maybe some woody caramel, roasted nuts. Nice palate; not too viscous. Just didn’t have the special something that grabs me the way most other Brewdogs have.

Dark red to brown body, almost no head. Sweet aroma of honey, caramel, wood, red fruits. Taste is sour, dry and slightly bitter. Peat, some tartness, dark fruit, rowanberries, coffee, roasted nuts, some spiciness like white pepper and minerals. Medium body, low carbonation.
Just nice! Very tasty one.

FTA: Not a 2015 brew tick. So far I have not seen it tin shops. From last season - it was a good seasonal spicy brew. Cloves, honey and some peppers as noted.

The beer is not what I expected. I expected an amber colored ale, but this beer looks delicious. On the naked eye the beer looks dark brown or black. When seen with a light behind it, the beer has a beautiful deep dark ruby red color. The beer pours a moderate layer of beautiful light brown foam. The foam is quite rough and collapses quickly. A tiny drape of foam remains in top of the beer. The beer smells delicious. There is a delicious bitter dark roast aroma. This smell is linked to a magnificent bitter licorice aroma. I really love this typical English/Irish beer aromas. The taste also has this amazing features. There is a delicious licorice bitterness and some roasted barley. The taste is a little bit less strong than the smell; it is a tiny bit watery. The beer gives a little creamy sensation. I really like this beer and it is better than I expected. Chapeau.
