Tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Poured a very dark chesnut brown with a big frothy tan head. The aroma is malt with a little yeast thrown into the mix. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, nutty and with lots of roasted malt on the palate. The aftertaste is big nutty and sticks around forever!

Bottle. Black with a medium head. Malty with a slight sweetmess which is present but not overpowering. Malty aftertaste and left lots of lacing. An excellent example of this style and deliciously easy to drink.

Opaque black - brown beer with a good size tan head. Nice mildly salted caramel in the head. Softish palate with a little fine carbonation. Smooth malt, soft and sweet with a nice creamy vibe. Interesting fruity things going on underneath. Touches of toffee, marmite and licorice. Whisper of bubblegum before the smooth finish. Mild minerals. Don’t think I have had a better Scotch Ale than this. Unexpected cracker.

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, syrup - maple - honey, dark roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111228]

The color is almost back, with creamy brownish head. The aroma of dark malts is mild but subtle, interesting, with light bread and light smoke. It’s full bodied, with round and smooth mouthfeel; the flavor is a succession of waves: malt, chocolate, molasses; there is a moderate sweetness and some light smoke; some bitterness just in the final, that gets just slightly dry.
Great balanced beer, that can be sipped for long, and enjoyed with cheese.
