COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sink the Bismarck! is beer, amplified. With the volume turned full up, it is important you that you be careful with this beer and show it the same amount of sceptical, tentative respect you would show an international chess superstar, clown or gypsy. Sink the Bismarck is a quadruple IPA that contains four times the hops, four times the bitterness and frozen four times to create at a staggering 41% ABV. This is IPA amplified, the most evocative style of the craft beer resistance with the volume cranked off the scale. Kettle hopped, dry hopped then freeze hopped for a deep fruit, resinous and spicy aroma. A full out attack on your taste-buds ensues as the incredibly smooth liquid delivers a crescendo of malt, sweet honey, hop oils and a torpedo of hop bitterness which lasts and lasts.

Bottle to shot glass... Clear, woody brown....no head...this is no environment for fragile foam to exist in.... Aroma is fermented apple, caramel, hot pepper.....not subtle. Flavour is woody, dark agonized fruit, raisin, rum. Very pronounced alcohol sting.....burn. Sweet, syrupy, orange malt....sticky....thick. Impressive heat and flavor....not just an ABV bomb......though it’s hard to ignore... Interesting and brutal...points for sheer audacity..... Whew.

Pours dark oak. Texture is very thick. Aroma is sticky of alcohol with prunes, raisins and a bit vanilla(?). Taste is sweet and smooth with dried fruit. The alcohol is well hidden in the flavours. Gives a warm feeling of happiness. This was a huge surprise. I bought it online from Brewdog when i saw they had made a new batch and i dont regret spending £40 on this bottle.

Pours cognacy in color. Aroma of vanilla, honey, liqour, sherry, grappa. Taste is very oily and sherry-like with peppery and smoky tones, honey. Very different. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from BrewDog Shoreditch. Pours clear amber with no head. Loads of toffee and booze on the nose. To be expected really. Taste is actually quite balanced for what it is. Loads of toffee and raisin in the taste. Very sticky sweet. Not much alcohol burn which is impressive. Pretty surprisingly solid

Pours oily dark amber with no head. Aroma is huge dried fruit, alcohol, madeira, port. Taste is initially very boozy before turning sweet with long alcohol warming finish. Semi-liquid body with no carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep amber colored pour. No head. No lacing. Big toffee aroma with hints of malt nuts and alcohol. Sweet mouth with whisky notes. Raisins and malt. I cannot tell it is strong as it says it is. Pretty smooth and tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Share with Bish and Danny. Andy had some too, bet he didn’t see himself doing that when he left the house. Think numbers speak for themselves really Thomas, as someone who got a B in A Level maths I thought you’d know that.

Shared with the delicious Domnik and delectable Danyul. Relatively acceptable and more of an experiment than a gimmick. I liked it, warming and went down fairly smooth. Hard to rate with numbers.

Bottle at Brewdog Brum. The smell burnt my nostril hairs. To me (any road), this did taste like a beer. Albeit a very strong one indeed. Seemed to evaporate in my throat, but flavour was loooong. Not bad.

Bottle, from Brew Dog’s grim Manchester pub. From notes. Nose cream, fudge, toffee, caramel, spices, slight brandy. Taste, caramel, hops brown sugar. Alcohol burn high. Overall, the nose is spectacular, the taste less so. Interesting to try
