Sink the Bismarck! is beer, amplified. With the volume turned full up, it is important you that you be careful with this beer and show it the same amount of sceptical, tentative respect you would show an international chess superstar, clown or gypsy. Sink the Bismarck is a quadruple IPA that contains four times the hops, four times the bitterness and frozen four times to create at a staggering 41% ABV. This is IPA amplified, the most evocative style of the craft beer resistance with the volume cranked off the scale. Kettle hopped, dry hopped then freeze hopped for a deep fruit, resinous and spicy aroma. A full out attack on your taste-buds ensues as the incredibly smooth liquid delivers a crescendo of malt, sweet honey, hop oils and a torpedo of hop bitterness which lasts and lasts.

Crazy aroma. Aroma isis Tons of hops almost like hop oil. Taste is super hot alcohol with a malt and hop finish. Almost like pure octane with a nice hop finish. Better than I expected.

Difficult beer to rate, because of the lack of comparable brews. High viscosity and taste like whisky. Liquirice and hoppy. No carbonation.

Draught at Brewdog Edinburgh. Pours like a ruby whisky. Super malty aroma. Really surprised that it actually tastes like a beer rather than a spirit. Loads of burnt orange. Very smooth.

2/21/15. Sampled during RBWG 2015. Small sample thanks to Homer321 via phaleslu. Brown pour. Huge booze aroma, hints at citrus, mint, and lots of caramel. Rich flavor, boozy as all hell, as expected, mild citrus, mint, pine, but Im really searching beyond all the booze. Essentially a liquor. Glad to try, but definitely something to sip and share.

had when it was the strongest beer out there - split up a bottle 4 ways. Glad we did. A nice experience but harder to drink than say, a Utopias which is better crafted and a better sipper. This is slightly citrusy booze, resemblimg whiskey more than "Imperial IPA". Cool, but not worth the price.

This is Brewdog pushing the borders, expanding the definition of beer while remaining loyal to it at the same time. A successful experiment if you ask me. Get together with 4 good friends, get a bottle and split it to 5 glasses. Drink slowly, the way you would if the drink was a hoppy spirit. Actually, it is.
