A strong ale, brewed with guarana, Californian poppy, kola nut and Scottish heather honey. A conspiracy of trans-continental ingredients infused with some devastatingly BrewDog imaginative thinking.

Flaske 0,33l fra Systembolaget, Kiruna. Mørkebrun. Drukket hjemme 5 Mai 12. Høyt luftig skum som fester seg til glasset og varer lenge. Nydelig utseende. God fruktaroma. Litt ubestemmelig søt blomsterduft. Myk munnfølelse. Et anderledes øl. Syrlig bitterhet i avslutninga.

Bottle. Copper color with a foamy off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of honey, nuts, caramel and spices. Flavor is sweetish caramel malt, honey, spices and some fruitiness. Medium-bodied, some bitterness in the finish. Alcohol quite well hidden.

2 years old rating. 33cl bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. This is definetely a spice herb vegetable beer. Loads of spice, nuts , heather, honeysuckle and malt. Taste is sweet honeysuckle with a peppery finish and woody unusual fruits. Nothing really amazing.

Ar: sweetish, honey, jam, dark fruit, caramel, herbs, butterscotch, raisins. Ap: Amber colour, medium beige head that creates a lid. F: honey is evident, but not prominent, jam, cereal, rather short flavour, the aftertaste disappears very fast. Bitterness is low, but is placed upfront. Warming finish. M: average. T: Goes down easy, too easy, does not leave a mark.

330 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours clear dark amber with a big frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet, slightly floral and tiny metallic with caramel, honey, vanilla, fudge, orange peal and hints of milk chocolate, very ripe tropical fruits and marzipan. Taste is sweet and bitter with caramel, honey, jelly beans, orange peal, silage, vanilla toffee, bread, ginger and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is oily bitter, sticky sweet and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with oily pine, grass, orange peal, honey and hints of bread and toffee. More weird than good but still not that bad of a beer.

Copper red. Fermented honey, some burnt toffee. Spices. Soft, good body. A buttery scotch ale with a lot of everything.

Oct 2010: The best BrewDog beer I’ve had so far (out of eight). Brown 330ml bottle, just out of date (best before 15 Sept, drank and reviewed 22 Oct). The first beer in one of my random reviewing evenings, poured into a ’Corsendonk’ badged stemmed tulip glass. Light hazey body of dark amber with an off-white head that left some lacing as I downed the beer. If I hadn’t known better I’d have guessed Belgian from start to finish. It just seemed so Belgian, the aroma was of Belgian yeasts with a faint hint of sweetness. The taste a semi-sweet, medium bodied beer that just gave a trace of honey flavours before a mini bitterness appeared as the mouth dries. Very, very drinkable.

Bottle from sb Strømstad enjoyed at home
Deep copper red. big beige head, nice foam laces on the glass. Smells of brown sugar, honey, hints of liquorice and malts. Taste is quite malty, medium sweetness, some honey as well, still quite one dimentional. Finish has nice bitterness, some hops, grass and dust. Medium ++ body, average carbonation, quite thick feel. Totally an ok beer that i won’t work hard to have again

Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Very nice appearance with a thick lasting beige head over a clear orange amber color. Strange candy like aroma with some honey and caramell malts. Sweet malty and big body. Medium bitterness and tasty.
