Deep ruby color. Dusty fruit aroma, hints of cough syrup. Doesn’t taste like Bashah at all. Very fruity, a hint of malt. Nothing to get excited about.

Black with a big fluffy light brown head. Aroma: BIG raspberry note, some whiskey, spicy, nutty, dark fruits, but really the raspberries are overpowering, whiskey dark chocolate, . Taste: slightly sour, roasted, slightly bitter with a nice fruity sweetness. Notes of slightly tart raspberries, whiskey soaked berries, some roast, ash, some funky sugars. Flavour is very complex and there are sooo many flavours that blend together so it makes it hard to describe. THe raspberries and whiskey are dominant and play well together with the roasty base. Nice on Brewdog!

Bottle #923 of 1060 to celebrate my 1st wedding anniversary. It pours very dark brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. The nose is jammy, dark berry, raspberry, earth, roasty, smoke, coffee, honey and stewed orange. The taste is light roast, tangy berry, raspberry, bramble, jam, earth, wood, some alcohol warmth, cola, liquorice, nice sour fruitiness, light smoke, some acidity, iodine and a touch of spice with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice depth of flavour. Tasty and well-balanced. Fresh I preferred this version to the Imperial, however with a few years of aging the reverse is true. A very nice beer nonetheless.

37.5 cl corked bottle @ home (Bottle #247). Pours black with a lot of sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is raspberries, whisky, caramel, and a little liquorice. Flavour is raspberries, oak, and some warming alcohol – with a slightly tart finish.

Opaque and very dark brown beer. Good brown head. Raspberry and a little whisky on the nose. Fresh softish palate. Creamy dark malt base, not dry or bitter. Mellow whisky with fresh tangy raspberry and a trace of wood. Semi dry finish. All the disparate elements come together in to a fruity adult beer!

Bottle. Fruit in the nose, blackberry, raspberry, and some cough drops, too. Very strong berry flavors cover the tongue, not much of anything else, though the hops do come through a bit in the final. Kind of a fruit wine spritzer of a beer. Thin-medium body. Fun, unusual, but the fruit just dominates too much.

Jammy raspberry nose, dust, chocolate, cough syrup. Sweet, syrupy flavor, berries and jam, cough syrup again. Thick and cloying, with a little wood and smoke. Sloppy and ill-done, just sweet fruit jam, nothing like the original Basha.

In bottle at Craig’s BrewDog tasting. Pours a very dark brown colour with a thin light tan head. Highland Park whiskey aromas of honey and oak with sharp raspberries, roasty malt, chocolate and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Mildly bitter with lingering sour raspberry and lemon flavours.

Bottle from brewdog.com. When I first had this it brought a tear to my eye. Simply stunning in every way. It has slightly worsened with age but it is still a stunning beer.

Bottle @ Mikkeller. Black, tan head. Fruity - raspberry, cranberry, dark fruits. Wood, roast, peat? Maybe unbalanced, still worth it.
