Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, hay, roasted, cramel, coffee, moderate to heavy hoppy, graoefruit, moderate yeasty, Belgium yeast. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20100126]

Bottled. A very dark red-brown beer with a nice, but collapsing brown head. The aroma alcohol, berries, roastes malt, and a bit of iodine. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well as medium notes of cocoa beans, wood, iodine, and alcohol, leading to a dry roasted finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and huge tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and solid hoppy. Dark chocolate and hoppy fruity flavoured. Light spiced note. Ends dry and spiced. Smooth roasted and bitter into a dry and lingering slight spiced finish.

Cask at Stockholm Beer Festival. Cloudy very dark brown. Licorice aroma. Mid-sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Tarry licorice aroma - not much Belgian style about this Black Belgian Double IPA. Smoky, tarry and concetrated. Salty finish with San Diego style bitterness. Crazy BrewDog stuff as ever.

Pitch black coloured with a medium sized bieg head.
Roasted and hoppy aroma of dark chocolate and pine needles.
Roasted and hoppy flavour of pine needles, dark chocolate, grass, liquorice and grape fruits.
Dry roasted and hoppy finish.
Extreme, but fantastic.

Bottle, 8.6%. Good hop aroma, slightly grassy, a little roasted barley. Almost black colour, red shine. Small stable light brown head. The flavour starts off with a good roasted note with a little barley bitterness. Then comes a good grassy hop flavour. Good.

Bottle at Ørsted, Copenhagen The color is almost black. The aroma mixes roasted malt and alpine cheese. Good chocolate flavor, good body, roasted malts; strong bitterness. Not much complexity, but good balance and power.
