3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Whole Foods. Cloudy gold pour with a neglible white head leaving no lace. Nose is ripe fruit and peat. Medium body with light carbonation. Smoked peat, apple, pear, tobacco, walnuts and oak. Finish is lighter, shortish, smoky, bitter and umami. This is the ale that YBís Rex Attitude would be if it were more balanced. A scotch ale for those who donít really drink scotch. I like it, but itís not an IPA by any stretch.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Vintage 2011? - Apricot, peat, smoke and oak. Cloudy orange with a thin beige head. Oak, smoke and peat. Yes it taste likes Islay whiskey juice, but what did you expect? Read the bottle. No IPA notes at all.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330 mL bottle shared by Adam. Batch 013. This thing is just whoa... All around. The color is weird; kind of hazy, brown-ish gold, with some yellow or gold tones in there. The aroma is all scotch. There isnít anything else going on thatís detectable. Just the burn of scotch. The flavor is slightly worse. Itís like drinking scotch on the rocks, only the rocks are road gravel, and just offer a mildly abrasive note to it. The mouth feel is thin, burns, and I do not want this sitting on the tongue at all. Bad.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pale golden pour thin to no white ring of head .... aroma of smoked peated malts, whiskey and sweet malts .... taste is of smoked peated malts, thin watered down whiskey and some sweet malts ... light bitter bite in the dry finish .... not a very exciting beer like whats left after the ice melts in a glass of scotch ... no trace of the ipa style

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
No head, flat body. Big alcohol aroma... scotch and peat. The scotch is pretty heavy, but makes this unique. Tastes like the last few swigs of a scotch on the rocks.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle@AGTí13: BB 2009: Served in a Chouffe glass.
No head, just some white bubbles on top of a hazy yellow orange colored beer.
Aromas of bandage, peat, iodine, malts, hospital, hints of liquor, yeast and earth.
Flavours of peat, smoke, earth, leather, yeast, bitters, chalk, some hops, some fruits, some floral tones. Hoppy happy Islay...
Aftertaste of leather, peat, hops, flowers, yeast, floral and white vinous tones.
Low carbo, soft watery mouthfeel, medium bodied and a watery light creamy texture.
IPA? Like an islay soda pop. Nice...

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
11.2oz bottle shared by beerpig317. Bottled 2/2/10. He said it was on closeout at Party Source. It must have been sitting around for a real long while, because it tasted awful. One of the worst beers Iíve ever tasted. Half hazy orange color. No head or lace. Ugh, that nose.. Ethanolic cleaning product. Very sweet taste, super cloying. Bigger body. Little to no carbonation. Canít believe how bad this has gone. Terrible, rancid aftertaste. Ughhh..... Musty. Not even caramel malts shine here

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
July 2010. From bottle. An unusual IPA, but I really liked this one. Very unique and the cask ageing did not overwhelm at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Best by 2/2/10. Consumed 5/10/13. 3 years late. Pours a clear orange with a thin, bubbly white head. Aroma is sensory overload; sweet, sour, smokey, vinous, citrus, peat, whiskey, apples, grapes. Odd and interesting. Taste is lots of smoke (real smoke; like camp fire smoke), fruity white wine notes, apples, whiskey; bitter citrus finish that turns all smoke. This is charcoal. Highly aggressive flavor profile. Some nice lacing. Mouth feel is slick, wet. Low carbonation. Really interesting. The smoke dominates. It is the only star here with a few subtle hints of fruit to support. The alcohol is surprisingly well-hidden. Thereís a lot of smoke flavor; not a lot of alcohol burn though. I actually really like this. Though I am getting it very late in itís life.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
A still beverage. Orangey brown opaque hue similar to cider. Smells of leather, sausage, and smoke. Tastes of astringent char and is remeniscent of smoked gouda perhaps due to yeast . Palate is too bit to drying/bitter. Would drink again with cheese or meat.
