Bottle 33cl.
Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, grapefruit, fruity, smoke, peat, woody. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (240508)

Bottled. A pale golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of phenol, wood, and whiskey. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of phenols, wood, smoke, peat, and whiskey - too much for me.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Theis. Clear golden with a tiny off-white head. Strong aroma of burned plastic and smoke. Medium body, burned plastic accents, malt and ashes. Bitter finish. The IPA notes completely disappears under the heavy barrel peatiness. 300809

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Theis. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Burned plastic and smoked aroma. Vegetable and burned plastic flavoured. Very smoked and somewhat strange in flavour profiles. Dry and lasting vegetable/plastic smoked flavoured finish.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Islay whisky cask in the nose and also some slight fruity notes. Flavour is pretty much oakbarrel, smoke and very islay whiskyish. Not much left of any IPA-like notes in the flavour.

omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 25, 2008
Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear golden, small head. Oaky woody whisky aroma. Medium sweet and a bit fruity with solid body. Plenty of hoppy grapefruit underneath the shisky. Long very salty bitter finiah. While the marriage between the intense hops and whisky is a stormy one, it’s tough to host to so strong personalities in one bottle, it still works out OK. One of the most schizophrenic beers I’ve head.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2008 Bottle. Clear yellow coloured with a snall white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, butterscotsch and hops. Flavour of malts, caramel, smoke, hops and grape fruits. Dry hoppy finish. Not very fond of the combination of IPA and cask aged whisky.

Cloudy golden color, small head. The aroma is less strong than I remember, but still nice; there is light peaty aroma, malt, paper, hop. Good caramel flavor, on the dry side, with strong oily bitterness and some smoke; but all these elements are mixed together quite chaotically. Strong final. Good but not impressive like the first time I tried it.

Hazy golden color. Very nice peaty aroma, with shades of vanilla and paper. Medium body strength, good toffee-caramel-malt flavor, on the dry side, with a very good hopping, balanced, with dry resins; and the nice smokey touch. Balanced and long final. Dangerously drinkable. A beautiful idea.
