3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2009 Bottle, batch no. 150, best by date 121209: Great googaly-moogaly... this is scotch beer... Iíd swear that I was having a Bruchladdich with water... pour is golden with almost no head after an aggressive spill... taste is pure Islay scotch with all of the sea salt, ocean spray and peat that comes with it, there is a slight background of fruity yeast esters and bittering on the finish... definately not an IPA, but it is extraordinarily unique for sure.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Mark this one as a re-rate needed as the label said best before 21012 and this is 2015. I donít believe Brew Dog would release a beer this bad. This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very small sized head of frothy fine to medium sized clear colored bubbles that were very quickly diminishing and left behind a uncarbonated transparent orange brown colored body and a poor lacing. The strange aroma was old ale musty dirty and mildly malty. The flat mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow malty dirty aftertaste. The weak flavor contained notes of dirt cardboard old ale breads and malt. A horrible one that I would rather not drink again.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle from systembolaget sweden. No head over a clear amber beer. Big aroma from a cheap whisky. The whisky also dominate the taste. A bit thin body so the beer is rather one dimensional.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle, randomly found with best before 1/1/10. Should have looked at the date before purchasing, oh well. Very strong smokey peat aroma, much like an Islay scotch, but also had very subtle fruit esters. Pours hazy golden colored with an almost nonexistent white head and very little lacing. Light fruit esters to start, but these do not last long. The heavy smoke and peatiness of the Islay come through overpoweringly strong on the finish, wiping out any other flavors that were there. I like a good Islay, but the flavor of this wrecks the palate beyond recognition. Would have liked to try it fresh.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rated on 11-02-2010. This bottled beer pours a small semi-fizzy white head that mostly diminishes, golden body, suspended carbonation, and a ring of lacing. The aroma is malt, whiskey and scotch. The taste is harsh, some malt, whiskey, scotch and a dry finish. The mouth feel is lively and this beer is medium bodied. The flavor was not what I was expecting given this beerís style. Surprise, surprise! The flavor left me not wanting this beer again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Vintage 2011? - Apricot, peat, smoke and oak. Cloudy orange with a thin beige head. Oak, smoke and peat. Yes it taste likes Islay whiskey juice, but what did you expect? Read the bottle. No IPA notes at all.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330 mL bottle shared by Adam. Batch 013. This thing is just whoa... All around. The color is weird; kind of hazy, brown-ish gold, with some yellow or gold tones in there. The aroma is all scotch. There isnít anything else going on thatís detectable. Just the burn of scotch. The flavor is slightly worse. Itís like drinking scotch on the rocks, only the rocks are road gravel, and just offer a mildly abrasive note to it. The mouth feel is thin, burns, and I do not want this sitting on the tongue at all. Bad.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pale golden pour thin to no white ring of head .... aroma of smoked peated malts, whiskey and sweet malts .... taste is of smoked peated malts, thin watered down whiskey and some sweet malts ... light bitter bite in the dry finish .... not a very exciting beer like whats left after the ice melts in a glass of scotch ... no trace of the ipa style

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
No head, flat body. Big alcohol aroma... scotch and peat. The scotch is pretty heavy, but makes this unique. Tastes like the last few swigs of a scotch on the rocks.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle@AGTí13: BB 2009: Served in a Chouffe glass.
No head, just some white bubbles on top of a hazy yellow orange colored beer.
Aromas of bandage, peat, iodine, malts, hospital, hints of liquor, yeast and earth.
Flavours of peat, smoke, earth, leather, yeast, bitters, chalk, some hops, some fruits, some floral tones. Hoppy happy Islay...
Aftertaste of leather, peat, hops, flowers, yeast, floral and white vinous tones.
Low carbo, soft watery mouthfeel, medium bodied and a watery light creamy texture.
IPA? Like an islay soda pop. Nice...
