Bottle@TastingSession. The aroma is very alcoholic, like brandy with quite some apple, raisin and stuff. No head at all, not even a little fizzy head. Flavour is strange. Starts off as brandy or something but has this unbalanced character due to the hop and mainly malty bitterness. The palate is horrible. Sharp and alcoholic like a very young whisky. Rating it like I would rate a beer isn’t fair, I understand that. Rating it on it’s means I really dislike it. Rating it as a liqueur or spirit still doesn’t give it any credits.

Pours black with no head. Aroma is of warming whiskey spiced booze, salty, oak, chocolate malts, and buttery toffee. It reminds me of a tasty sweet glazed meat. The flavor is rather rich of dark roasted malts, sweet burnt caramel syrup, some bitterness, and some vanilla. The finish is more of a roasted coffee liqueur without the dark coffee bitterness. Overall it is rather good. If you consider the potent nature of this brew it blends rather well. It remains vand very flavorful and is intriguing. I never had anything like this. I would recommend this beverage even that it is not your typical imperial stout style.

Not bad. A sweet think ans syrupy brew. Nice but not worth more than to satisfy curiosity. :-)

Small sample from a swingtop bottle in Edinburgh. Dark reddish-brown body looks quite thick. Smells much like a barleywine. Tastes like barleywine concentrate. Syrupy. No mistaking high ABV in the mouthfeel. Boozy, but much less so than expected given the extraordinary ABV.

Aroma: toasted malts, coffee, salty, smoked flavours. Appearance: slightly hazy black, no head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: salty flavours coming up quickly, alcohol, toasted malts, coffee liqueur. Overall: very extreme, interesting, yet nothing I would drink again. Bottle at the brewery, Ellon.

Bottle, Brewdog, Leicester. Dark brown with a thin head. Aromas are sticky toffee with smoked ham and Chinese five spice. Earthy with lemon, raisins and toasted malts. Very spicy booze with marzipan and brandy. Flavours are sweet, burnt toffee and raisins with alcohol and coriander burn. Thick on the palate with brandy and leafy hops. Smoky meatiness with honey and lemon. The opposite of a session beer but still surprisingly drinkable. Good.

Nip from bottle at DogTap. Pours dark brown. Nose is very strong and boozy, sweet chocolate, whisky, vanilla, oak. Taste is also strong, thick, liqueur like, toasted and burnt malts, chocolate, raisin. Beer of itsown style but I still rather take an IS or whisky or portwine.
