3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is totally carbonation free. Dark color with hints of red. Nose is just divine, smoky, earthy, and sweet. Taste is a bunch of smoke and peat, like a thick glass of scotch. Alcohol doesnít come through near as much as I thought it would. Mouthfeel is heavy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled from a bottle, I couldnít drink a full bottle and this should be sold in a nip size. Very heavy roast and some smoke, which I like, but it is very thick and the roast so burnt that it is hard to drink. Really a few sips are enough.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Shared a bottle with friends. Deep brown almost black pour with a nonexistent head. Powerful aroma, alcohol and vanilla. Tastes is coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla. Alcohol content is present throughout the whole experience. Definitely a sipper not a gulper.

This is a heavy thick beer, you can taste the whiskey flavors, more similar to a fine port, if i had the money I would drink it in a port glass or brandy balloon after every meal. Tasty, strong and warming.

From bottle #908. Wow, this is a huge beer, well itís kind of a beer. Huge very complex aroma that hints at how intense the flavours will be, but it lies, this thing grab you by the throat. Pours and looks like a port, thick with no head. The alcohol is very warming, ultra rich flavours keep changing as you sip. Its not an everyday beer but I liked it a lot.

The aroma is so fantastic Iím enjoying it with every sip. Very thick, tasty, and it definitely has a strong Scottish whiskey taste. Iíd love to have a small glass every day but unfortunately the price tag wonít let me do this. Well done to the brew dog boys.

When I tasted it I wasnít so sure that itís an ale. More like Irish Whiskey. Woody, smokey. Incredibly tough brew - more like Incredible HULK of the craft beer :D Warm feeling afterwards, more like hot.. licorice aftertaste.
Although when I get to know the price - I was shocked. Itís way too expensive. But Iím glad I tried it once.
I loved it but I still donít think that itís an ale..

Taste: Medium sweetness, low sourness and low/medium bitterness.
Palate: Thick smooth texture, medium/heavy texture, no carbonation, lingering dry treacle, liquorice, spiritous, fruity finish with a lot of alcohol warmth and dryness. After the initial sweetness their is a slight bitter peat/ whisky note.
