3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SilkTork (4736) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - JAN 18, 2012
Brewdog event at the Rake, 7th Sept 2010. With thanks to The Cad for double servings. Alcohol aroma. Some plastic. Fairly clean and pure aroma - distilled. Quite fumey. Marzipan. Pasta. Vodka. First sip was alcohol - clean, mostly neutral and fairly drinkable. There’s an awareness of the beer base somewhere in the pure alcohol and spirit heat - some suggestion of caramel. A nettle like finish that is interesting. Impossible to assess or even pin down as a beer. Perhaps best thought of as a beer liquor, than as a beer. A spirit that has some sense of beer as its origin.

Pours clear nut copper with no head. Nice fruity, malty and dried fruits aroma. Heavy sweet, boozy, bitter flavors with notes of sweet liquorice and a hoppy acidity. Full body. Oily texture. Alcoholic warmth. Thanks to tarjei for inviting me, and thanks to the winner of Mikkeller bar’s lottery, who kept it sealed until tarjei was in town and then kindly shared. The bottle came with the name of the animal that engulfed it - Susan, which was renamed Susie when arriving in Copenhagen.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 30, 2011
A third of a thimble taster from the stoat at Brewdog event at the Rake, 7th Sept 2010. Bright clear yellow gold appearance - looks like the "yellow oil" that was the desired outcome of every first year organic chemistry practical I did at uni! Grassy, earthy, peppery hoppiness on the nose. In the mouth, there’s an insane level of alcoholic heat - it makes your tongue swell. Orange and pine resin are the dominant flavours. It’s got great legs - the oily palate ensures it coats your mouth and just keeps giving.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Adenila (1468) - DENMARK - APR 14, 2011
Sampled at "the strongest beer in the world" tasting session on Ørsted Ølbar. Its clear golden and looks very sticky, no head. The aroma hits you with a mix of herbal juniper, loads of hemp and of course nostril ripping alchohol fumes. The flavor reveals a super intence and high amoung of hops, which almost makes the bitterness more noticeable than the alchohol, almost. It is all in all more balanced than i thought because of the bitterness and in the end it was actually a great little sip.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheJestersBeer (802) - SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2011
Bottle (rat?). Pale yellow, no head. Malty, fruity nose, with aromatic yeasty notes, alcohol, oak, spices. Full bodied, dry, almost no carbonation at all. Very intense, burning alcohol, wood, malt, yeast, aromatic. Long, lingering aftertaste with lots of wood and alcohol. Interesting, yes. Fascinating, yes. Very drinkable - not really. (2010-09-30)
