mj (4975), Colorado, USA Sep 30, 2008 650ml bottle shared by kmweaver. Light haziness, honey amber body, small white head. Nose is somewhat quiet, some band-aid caramel (very light), some pine and cedar scented hops, light fruitiness. Fairly fresh flavor, light malt presence, a little buttered cracker malts, the lightest touch of caramel or munich, and then some subtle pineapple juice and orange. Medium body, mostly smooth, well-presented, good stuff overall. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Sep 30, 2008 650mL bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, honey-orange color; solid white head with good retention and mixed-bubbled lacing. Candy sugar, earthy hoppiness, and some sweet floral notes in the aroma; perhaps a touch of skunkiness, but very mild; toasty nose. Medium mouthfeel: chewy candy sugar and sweet malts coupled to an earthy basic hop bitterness; solidly drinkable, if a bit overly sweet at the core; some citrus and toast. Medium finish: toasty malts, crackers, and earthy hops; ends dry, but reasonably sweet until the very end. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottle from La Bodega. Clear red amber with no head. Sweet malty aroma and taste with caramel and molasses notes. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 25, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear amber, small creamy head. Spicy hoppy nose. Medium bodied with chewy cookie malt. Caramelly and malt accented but with a hoppy twist and good late bitterness. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Sep 24, 2008 500mL. Pours hazy apricot with a lacy white head. Fruit, nut and toffee nose. Medium body and light carbonation. Peachy caramel taste. Dry finish. A decent amber at a premium price. badgerben (3586), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Sep 23, 2008 Amber color with no head. Light biscut aroma and a bit of earthy hop. Dry and bitter caramel taste. Lightly floral. Strong grain. Not much going on. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Sep 22, 2008 500. Thanks, Bitbucket! Pours a cloudy burnished coppery dark amber with a thick, moussy tan head. Smells bready, a bit leafy, sort of dancing on the edge of dryness like a lot of the better ambers do. Body’s a little lighter than creamy, a little lighter than medium. Plenty of carb. The leafy notes and bready notes return, to keep a distinct butter note company on the mid-palate. I’m getting a little annoyed with the butteriness from BrewDog now. Do they not have hinges on the brewkettle lid? drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Sep 13, 2008 Bit malty. Bitter after bite. Not an overwhelming taste. Little bit plain actually. I was expecting something more "extreme" given the brewery’s reputation. Very basic Amber.
