Commercial Description:
Cask & Bottled;
A historically accurate beer based on the recipe devised on the 8th of February 2007. Recreated using the finest coloured malts which provide the complex sweet malt character which initially arouses the senses. Like a fine cheese cake the biscuit base has a smooth and creamy layer that both satisfies and entices. Culminating with a delicate fruit topping of blackcurrant and tinges of citrus to refresh the participant, complimented fully by the crisp dry bitter finish.

batch 001. aroma has notes of caramel, tea, and prunes. lifeless appearence of a tobacco colored beer with no lacing and a small filmy head. flavor is malty with burnt caramel, prunes, tea, cigarette tobacco. medium body. not really sure what to think of this one. very mild, smooth, and tame palate with a different but pleasant flavor, strange aroma, and an ugly appearance... but i think this what they were shooting for. the more i drink it, the more i like it.

22.4oz bottle, Batch 001 best before 01/01/09. Pours cloudy amber in color with foamy off white head. Aroma sweet, malty and hoppy. Taste of malty, caramel, roasted nuts and bitter hops with bitter finish.

Bottle: pours an orange brown color with a sweet plum and prune smoked aroma. First taste has the sweetness and almost smoked flavor of what you would expect from the aroma followed by hops that put an end to the sweet taste and leaves a dry hop aftertaste. The aroma is almost my favorite thing about this beer. I am not that fond of the finish as I feel it takes away from the other flavors. One of the best ambers I have had though.

Bottle. Pours a slightly pale amber body with a decent beige head. Caramel-malty aroma with some oxidation. Probably cellared too warm. Caramel and oxidation in the flavor too, as well as a nice piney hoppyness. Sure nothing speical about it, but a highly drinkable beer on the malty side. Would like to try it again. (080811)

330ml bottle. Amber body with a beige head. Aroma has malt and caramel. Flavor is malt, caramel, hops and fruity. A bit oxidized as well, but not really annoying. Quite straight forward but nice.

Bottle. Pours a deeper amber whose head disappears rather quickly. Nose is sweet roasted malts. Flavor is a continuation of the malt profile. I was anticipating more hops but there was only a trail of bitterness in the finish. A very run of the mill, average beer. Thanks to theisti for the bottle.

650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours a copper amber color with a small white head that leaves some lacing. The aroma is relatively weak with just a touch of sweet malts. The flavor is washed out sweet malts with a touch of biter hops. The mouthfeel is full with soft carbonation. The finish is long and slightly biter with astringency. Overall: A very sessionable ale, if somewhat ordinary.

pours a hazy amber-orange with a small dirty-white head that goes away quickly, very good lacing.
smell is some hops, roasted nuts, earthy, touch of caramel, some citrus in the back.
taste is smooth, sweet malts, fruity, grain, touch of caramel, some grapefruit hops in the back, becomes more bitter as you drink but not really bitter overall.
