COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled;
A historically accurate beer based on the recipe devised on the 8th of February 2007. Recreated using the finest coloured malts which provide the complex sweet malt character which initially arouses the senses. Like a fine cheese cake the biscuit base has a smooth and creamy layer that both satisfies and entices. Culminating with a delicate fruit topping of blackcurrant and tinges of citrus to refresh the participant, complimented fully by the crisp dry bitter finish.

In the bottle from HyVee Council Bluffs. On sale for an incredible $4.99. Pours amber with a slight haze and very little white head. The aroma is quite like tea, orange pekoe in fact. A nice mild citrus orange hop with a sweet then bitter finish blast. the bitterness remains long on the tongue. This was from Batch 002.

Amber ale with a thin white head, lifeless, weird deposit in the neck of the bottle. A very malty aroma, with British hops, a bit vinous, not bad. In mouth, a sweet cloying malt with light British hops, a bit of nutty notes, lifeless mouthfeel. Boring. BB 10-08-09. Bieropholie import.

Okay. Nothing I thought was too great. Has a biscuity, pellet hop type of presence throughout. Very sharp bitterness on the finish.

Bottle from TBS, thanks matt... Redish amber color, duh... No head? Malty aroma. Taste is the same, just a plain malty beer, some touch of earthy notes. Ambers are BORING.... I wanted to like this beer but in the long run its just like every other amber in the world.... Didnt even finish my glass....

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Malty beer with nutty chewy toasted malt, caramel and a late bitterness. Earth and a shallow fruit tone. Decent, not worth the price tag however.

no maltyness or sweetness for me at all. very dry across the tongue. heavy hops make it crisp. probably could be classified as an IPA. no astringency or acidity on the finish. doesn’t have a lot to say. lingering aftertaste.

Bottle @ Malthouse. Pours a beautiful red/amber, thin dissipating off white head.
Super biscuity aroma, some raisiny fruit. Flavour is super biscuity too, subtle raisin. Dry bitter hop cuts the malt slightly, but the flaout remains like a drinkable malt biscuit.
Would be highly sessionable if it was cheaper.

Cask, Griffin, Carlisle. Quite malty and mellow, but with a tangy hop character in the background. Amber appearance, zesty palate, slightly acrid aftertaste, towards the end.

Bottle. Pours lightish copper with a very little off-white head that’s barely there but does leave a bit of lacing. Nose mainly consists of malt and spicy yeast with a bit of caramel and whisky in the background. Flavour is also quite malty and hoppy with hints of caramel and spice but considering the aroma, the flavour is quite restrained, even a little thin. All in all quite a nice beer, very sessionable.

Cask at the Kingston Arms, Cambridge. Copper with a thin white head; bitter, hoppy aroma; clean bitter citrus flavour; with a lengthy finish.
