3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bought from Website.
Caramel and apple and a little citrus on the nose.
Sweet fudge and more autumnal fruit on the nose.
Dry and bitter finish leaves a slight harshness in the throught but very drinkable english / american bitter. Nice

5.0% deep amber with a good head, fruity hop aroma, fruity, hoppy bitter taste, better than their Punk IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Got to try this on a trip to Oxford a while back. I’ve had this in the bottle and on cask is a whole other story. It blows the bottle away in every aspect.
A - dark amber, light, large bubbled head that led to a very nice lacing.
S - much more than I was expecting. Hops and honey, slightly roasted malt and citrus
T - so much hoppier than I was expecting! Nice citrus hops as well as a decent biscuity malt profile, very well balanced.
M&D - So easy to drink as most cask ales are with it’s low carbonation and slightly higher temperature. The intense Flavor (at least for a bitter) is the only thing that kept this beer in my glass for very long.
almost feel like the rating is unfair as this is hard to find on cask in the UK much less anywhere else.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A-- Poured and orange reddish color and very cloudy once it settled. No real head or lacing, a little bit of a white film on the top of the beer and not much else. Shows no real carbonation on this at all.
S-- Floral smell with pine and lemon. Also a good sized malt background in this with a little bit of a biscuit sweetness to it.
T-- Malt biscuit taste upfront followed by the floral, pine, and citrus tastes.
M-- No carbonation, fairly thick and coats my mouth. Feels a lot more thicker than it should. More citrus than I thought. Get a lot of lemon in this in the aftertaste. Once it warms up it does have a bit of sour in it.
D-- Was quite good for being WAY out of date. Was surprised how much citrus was still in this and that it seems to want to be a DIPA more than an ESB. Low ABV means very sessionable but I think the negative is that it gets samey after it warms up and kills taste buds. Also has a bit of soap quality in the finish when it warms. Solid none the less.

Overall, I think this more of an Amber but, regardless of style a tasty and interesting brew. Worth seeking out.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
a decent amber ale, completely overshadowed by 5am saint however, not surprised that this one disappeared. overall it was weaker in all departments and 5am was the natural successor

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of white head that leaves very little lacing behind. Aroma is caramel malts with some light fruits and a splashing of hops. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with citrus and cereal grains. Body is quite substantial for the ABV and carbonation was more than adequate. Above average for the style and definitely worth a try.
