3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 KnutAlbert (5186) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 27, 2010
Nutmeg, ginger, cloves. Nice beer base underneath, bu this is not too balanced.
It is very Christmassy, and a nice enough tipple on its own, but I’d say it is too spicy for most food. For a stew or marinade?

Bottle from Kvickly 3/40,- Very nice prize. Dark golden brown colour with a very nice beige head. Aroma and taste of dried ginger, cinnamon, cookie and roasted malt. So much flavour and long finish in this low alco. stout. Very nice balanced low carbonation. Nice and I have to buy some more.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6989) - London, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2010
Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours a dark, almost clear ruby-brown with a thick, beige head. Cinnamon and some cocoa malts in the nose. Lots of cinnamon and chocolate in the flavor, with some modest chalk, herb and earth bitters. Medium in body with smooth carbonation. Could do with a bit more sweetness. Finishes with yet more raw cinnamon powder and light malts. Very faint hops in the throat. Very nice beer overall.

In bottle, pours a very dark brown colour with a decent light tan head. Aroma of cinnamon, cola, ginger and chocolate. Big cinnamon flavour again upfront. Some caramel, hot cocoa and roasty malt to finish. Moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. OK. Lots of cinnamon and fairly heavy given the 4.7% abv. I have also had this is cask and keg and have to say it stands up well in keg, with the extra chill subduing the cinnamon a bit.

Bottled from Systembolaget
Black with a large, off-white head.
Fresh, slightly roasted aroma and flavour with ginger.
Light to medium bitterness and pretty moderate sping makes it a good beer in my palate!

Bottled, 330ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Chestnut with cream head. Heady aroma of spices, leading to rather a sweetish, honeyed, smooth malty beer with a lavish dose of ginger. There is a chocolate element but this is smooth and milky. Not a blockbuster but reasonably decent.

(on bottle, bought at Kvickly at 3 at 40 kroner, heheh, nice) Big surprise to find BrewDog on the shelfs of Kvickly. Cinnamon, liqourice, maybe allspice and dried ginger; that´s what I get from the aroma; very subtle and good. The hopping are also very present and the "ginger" might come from the hops. Brown color, not much of a head. Watery mouth and the roasted is juuust over the limited at 4.7%, but it´s ok. Fades a bit out, but leaves a lot of room forone more. A nice session xms beer.

Dark thick hazy black body and brown lasting head with good lacing. Heavy aroma of ginger, coffee and chocolate. Roasted malt. Thick, sticky texture and a bitter finish. The taste is medium sweet and heavy bitter.
