Bottled. Poured dark amber with a thin white head. Heavy islay whiskey aroma, flavor very similar, some sweet maltiness lingering. Long finish, slight alcohol notes. Quite an enjoyable, different barley wine.

12 oz. bottle. I regretted this purchase when I looked at the receipt and noticed it was $14 for a 12 oz. bottle. Brew Dog’s involvement should have been a red flag. Pours a muddy reddish-mahogany, off-white head. Aroma is mild, smokey, some caramel and toffee, which absolutely does not prepare me for the absolute shock as this liquid hit my tongue. Smoke, cleaning fluid, and cigarette ash. Absolutely jarring. I then wondered whether something awful had happened to me and my palate went bad. Luckily, I was reassured when I passed it around and received similar responses. Just unfathomable. Never again, Brew Dog, never again.

12 oz. bottle, brought back from the UK by the amazing Matts_Property, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of scotch islay barrels, smoked malts, and some caramel malts. Flavour of smoke, islay whiskey barrels, a bit of caramel sweetness and a full body - none of the short bread, fudge or candy floss elements as indicated in the description. The smoke / islay whiskey dominates everything here, and the booze is quite prominent as well. Decent.

330ml Bottle. A dark pour. Thoroughly smokey, definite peaty notes. No sweet taste. Wonderful...

Smokey whiskey on the nose. But a lot of green, hops also. Thick malty. Woodbarrely. The finish feels more like a whiskey than ale. Im confused.

Bottle shared with Mike and Diane for SF beer week. Dark black pour with super smokey and peated malt aroma. Taste was also very smokey and a little teriyaki. Reminded me of a very less strong Tactical Nuclear. Paired well with dark chocolate to cut the smoke.

Bottle picked up at Barley Wine in Copenhagen. Lots of whiskey in the aroma and the taste. Long aftertaste.
