Bottle. It’s really hard to say anything other about this beer than the fact that its drowned in smoke. Some vegtable notes. A little sweet. But why hide away all things beery with whisky influences?

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours red brown with a tan head.
Aroma of whiskey and chlorine. Too heavy on the whiskey so the beer was rather hidden behind smoak and oak, some sweetness revealed that it wasn’t a stout in the bottle.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shared bottle @Bishops Arms, København. Near-clear brownish amber, with a fairly tall and dense blond head. A light solventy alcohol smell up front, followed by a sweetish whiff of smokey, light peaty malts. Big and sweet malt body. Burnt caramel, campfire, pepper and some fruity bitterness in the flavor. Juicy texture. Alcohol warmth througout. Feels a bit rough around the edges. Will proably improve with cellaring.

Bottle from Utobeer Market Stall, London. Strong slightly sickly sweet malt aroma. Dark reddish brown colour with a reasonable head. Big toasted barley malt flavour with a smokey barbecue aftertaste. Pleasant surprise as I did not expect to like this one.

Potser n’esperava bastant més, al ser fusió d’aquestes dos i al final era el gust com fumat que ho dominava tot massa. Ara, bona. Això si. Però pel preu bastant més car...

courtesy of the Erzbierschofs, 11.5% - clear dark brown beer with a poor head retention; rubber and phenol, Islay whisky-like nose; cherries and wood; low carbonation and pretty tasty, sticky, full-bodied, very solid herbal bitterness and a long whisky-like, cherry, woody and herbal finish - very whisky-like and very nice

Many thanks to my sister-in-law for this one. Shared with gethinbeer on his wedding day. Sticky black brown pour. The aroma is intensely sticky and smoky with a lot of salty malt character. Salty and lightly tofeeish with a lot of fairly rich sweetness and some lingering richness as well. A touch of light salt and a lot of peaty malt character.

Poured a just-transparent mahogany. Head shrank real fast. I’m tasting something fruity, smoky, and whiskey-ey with a hops punch at the end. It’s complex but tasty. The body is medium-strong.
