4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 rarbring (650) - Linköping, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2012
Aroma: Smelling mainly of smokey peat, almost burnt rubber, sweet dried fruit nuances, and hopps, grass. Appearance: The beer is dark, almost black with hints of ruby, probably clear. A tan high head that settles slowly and leaves loads of lacing. Taste: The taste starts with dark sugar and bread, burned crust, charred wood, smoked sausage, sweet dried fruits, dates and figs. Some lemon zest. Palate: Little carbonation, soft, sticky and oily, a huge body, a dry finish. Overall: Lots of things going on here, in a well balanced taste explosion! Note: On-tap at De Klomp. 3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cunningham (2972) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 12, 2012
Feels like Earth, wind and fire plays smoke on the water. Hmm or probably Smokie. Brownish colour with a tan head. Smoke, peat and some fruity notes in the aroma. Full body. Balanced sweetness. Not as heavy smoke flavour as feared. Peat, smoke, caramel malt and some fruity notes. 11,5%? Where have they hidden that? Well your body notice it. But not your mouth. [Bottle from Slijterij t Fust in Hoorn, Netherlands]
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Holmen1 (1073) - NORWAY - OCT 28, 2012
Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff, okt-11: 13.5%, mørkebrun med dertil beige skum. Intens aroma av røkt whiskymalt og -fat. Smaken er som å vandre over torvmyrene på Andøya.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 skoisirius (1136) - Earth, Washington, USA - OCT 27, 2012
Well this is one of those brews that if you’re into getting kicked in the teeth, it works. Scotch all over the nose. Scotch all over the beer. Hints of plums, raisins, and sweets malts abound all over the palate, but the scotch is by far leading the race for your mouth. It’s not balanced, but hey, check the name. BIOTCH!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 toffeeslot (116) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 22, 2012
Intense smoke peat aroma. Follows through in the taste. Not as bad as I feared. Its one of those you have to try at least once.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jonnyguns (384) - - OCT 21, 2012
bottle from mane liqour. Pours a clear brown with a small baige head. Aroma is a smoke ball full of tar, burn plum, toffee and butter, almost like smelling an empty whiskey bottle. Taste is very smokey and dry with lots of ash mixed with caramel and toffee. Can really taste the alcohol not hidden well at all. Interesting brew definitely a sharing beer. Not my thing
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 cnardi (24) - ITALY - OCT 6, 2012
Naso molto "affumicato" che si attenua dopo alcuni minuti nel bicchiere. Riflessi rubini. Tanto alcool al husto. Birra sicuramente complessa e per certi versi "estrema".
