Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy peat. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, peat, smoke, caramel,. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20110527]

Bottled. A nut brown beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of phenol, burnt malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of burnt malt, caramel, alcohol, citrusy hops, and phenols, leading to a dry burnt phenolic finish. I find it flawed.

From tap. Pours clear and golden orange to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked, dense malty and tarish. Bitter, dark malty and roasted. Caramelish sweet and dense smoked.

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is leather, slightly alcoholic, mild islay peat and some slight hoppyness. Flavour is leathery, alcoholic, heavily peated with also some sweet maltyness and fruits.

Draught at Ølfestival København 2011. Hazy nut brown, small head. Smoky fruity nose. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. The hard barren malt prevents further exploration of the flavours. Some caramel, lot of smoke, mildly peppery alcohol burn in the finish. Rather messy.

Fruity aroma of caramel, hops and peat.
Fruity flavour of hops, peat, grass and whisky.
Hoppy finish.

Draft @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty weak smoky aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty smoky caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a sweetish malty smoky dark fruit finish.

Copenhagen Beer Festival, 2011. Pours ruby amber with a small creamy white head. Rubber, smoke, leather and alcohol. Very dry and bitter. Heavy!

Dark brown color, with generous compact head. The aroma is very interesting: whiskey first, some smoke, then milky cream; followed by fudge and candi sugar; finally, a light citrusy note. Good body strength; strong flavor of caramel and malt, with some roasted malts and slowly burnt wood, lightly buttery; there is a touch of smoke and of liquorice; strong alcohol warmth; in the final the combination of moderate roastiness and strong hop resins is a bit aggressive.
Good, a different one; almost a blend of Barley Wine and Imperial Stout.

Dark amber color, creamy head. Good caramel and malt aroma, light alcohol, whiskey. Good malt and caramel flavor, moderate residual sweetness, strong alcohol punch, with nice peaty whiskey presence, the smokiness is not too strong (can ever be?). Warming final.
Powerful. Good.
