Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.

@ Havregatan. Flaska från Systembolaget (95:-). Rostad malt och lakrits, trä, torkad frukt, hög sötma, alkoholvärme, fyllig. Avslutningen är alkoholvärmande med ordentliga lakritstoner. Mycket trevlig!

Look: Pours with small, thick, mocha head, some big bubbles present that pop quickly after the pour. Actually expected a bit more syrupy pour. Fast but good, smooth retention, thin creamy top that mostly diminishes soon, a bit of the mist stays on top for the whole ride. Almost no lacing. Dark brown, looks clear, but can’t really see through.

Smell: Dark fruit esters, dry fruits like dates, raisins. Malt presence is strong in this one, deep roast, black bread crust, chocolate milk, dark caramel and coffee. Light alcohol, you can feel it sting in the nose, better to smell it like snaps, a bit further away from the glass - a lot smoother and fruitier, enjoyed it quite a bit. Some freshness, probably from berry esters. Also reminds me of juniper liqueur, dark fruit jam and a little bit of ouzo.

Taste: Starts with huge sweetness, milk and some dark chocolate, dates, raisins, molasses; goes to oak driven roasted milk chocolate, licorice middle and ends with medium roasted coffee bitterness with strong booze and medium sweetness. Doesn’t go into unpleasant zone in the after, but it’s fat and demands easy, slow sipping. Oak, some minty, herbal undertone and berry sweetness combined with light sourness also present. Leaves lots of flambeed sugar and honey sweetness on the lips.

Mouthfeel: Syrupy, full, medium heavy body, low carbonation, quite some alcohol warmth - definitely a slow sipper.

Overall: Alcohol still quite strong but the beer incorporates a lot of other flavors to play with, each sip something else. It’s a big, fat display of huge amounts of fermented and aged dark malts that get tiresome towards the end, but I enjoyed it.

Denna lagrad sedan 2010! Mycket marsalavin i doften. Smaken mycket djup.

Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, molasses, oak, booze. Flavour is huge syrupy sweetness. Extremely thick-bodied, sticky mouthfeel. Impressive with a huge flavour, but far too sweet for me to return to it.

Poured opaque black with a small, thin dark tan head that was gone quickly. Aroma was mostly of coffee, with a slightly floral note underneath. Full body, thick and viscous, with a lingering oiliness to the finish. Flavor of coffee with some bitter chocolate notes. A lightly tart note from the cranberries at the back. A woody vanilla note appears as it warms some.

Watch out, very thick and syrupy, but excellent flavours of roasted coffee and chocolate... The big thing is still the consistency!!! Definitely worth the try.

Ale Alpharetta. Why not cap off the night with an 18% beer. Pours thicker black with light at the edges. Aroma and taste have a known boozy aspect. The taste is where the booze become quite prominent. Malty, dark chocolate, dark fruits, a bit of soy and more booze. Its like a beer cocktail. Good, fun try. Not as thick bodied as one would expect.

@Nedre Mölla 21/3-14. Flaska från Systembolaget. Arom: Mörk choklad, rostade toner & lite banan. Smak: Mörk choklad, rostade toner, söt, lite spritig/stickig. Munkänslan/kroppen är fyllig, konsistensen oljig och avslutningen lång och alkoholvärmande.
