Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.

Bottle from Bottledog, King’s Cross. Pitch black with a small chocolatey tan head. Very rich, syrupy sweet with treacle, coffee and chocolate flavours. Boozy in a pleasant warming way. Not harsh at all. Great, but maybe a touch too intense if I’m being picky.

Bottle from BrewDog online store (Jun 2012, batch -07, BB 20-10-20). Dark oily molasses colour, creamy tan head, syrupy-sweet, boozy, molasses, dried fruits, earthy/woody, rich chocolate, full body, thick, syrupy texture, long boozy-bitter finish. Sensational, so glad I cellared it for a couple of years.

From a 33 cl bottle shared at home. Pours black with a tan head. Strange peach and caramel aroma. Flavors of dark fruits, oak and raisin. Powerful boozy finish.

33 cl Brewdog Camden. Kolsvart färg med lite brunt skum. Doftar som en hel godispåse kryddat med bröd. Smakar enormt mycket och en flaska kan vara för mycket!

8/11 0.33 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing it with Marko and me! It poured hazy dark brown body with small head. Complex sweet sticky dark malt aroma. Coffee was less dominating than expected, caramel and honey (propolis) being more prominent along with some alcohol of course and woody nutty notes. Flavor was sweet. Too much. Caramel, sugar and toffee were still the most dominating, but coffee took bigger share now in the flavor. Needless to say, alcoholic all the way through the aftertaste, which was very warming, quite long lasting and caramel sweet. I liked it indeed, but was not blown away, just like my friends weren’t.

Completely dark, small but brown head. Full bodied, thick texture and flat carbonation. Sweet nose, some alcohol and caramel. Aroma is cocoa, coffee, dark fruit, caramel, hops, herbs. You can taste the alcohol, but I would never say it has 18.2% ABV. Noticeable but well hidden for that big amount. Long sweet finish. Maybe a little bit too sweet for my taste, but still, great beer.
