Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.
Formally 18.2 % ABV

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. I really liked this one, it had almost berry wine like qualities.

On tap at brewdog, Göteborg. Thick black with small tanned head. Smell is a lot of chocolate, some coffee, ashes and alcohol. Taste is burned malt, burned sugar, chocolate and coffee. Dry with very big body, medium bitterness and low carbonation.

Amazing. Oily black, minimal brown head. Aroma is caramel, coffee, chocolate. Tastes the same but with wood. Can fully feel the oak barrel. Creamy and smooth, booze very well hidden. Great ale.

Dark brown with just a thin lid of tan bubbles. Big aromas of roasted and toasted malt, molasses, plums, prunes and mild alcohol. Big and sweet flavors. Lots of dark fruit and roasted malt syrup, Dark candi, lightly burnt caramel, and light ash. Light spice, mix of pepper, star anise and alcohol. About midway through and this is getting somewhat overbearing. Thick, chewing, and sticky. A couple ounces of this would be enough. Well brewed and hides alcohol well. Still there are limits.

In the beginning is the rich carbonated and I did expect something like Mikkelers Black, but the flavor is limited and sparse and release little hard roasted malt and strong mocha. It tastes sweet with a hint of a little cherry and early deletion nature of stout. Now it’s a beer for gently sipping when you know in advance the strength, but you actually just having it around in all corners of the mouth to sense its true character. The cherries taken over after some time of filling a malty taste with burnt shades, dark chocolate and a little cautious smoked malt. Its expression is clearly vinous, completely in the sweet port wine shades, but alcohol sharpness is nicely tucked out of the way of the other fruit, malt and smoke leaving only faint heat in the throat. It is superior delicious, but may seem a little too sweet in length. Conversely, its sweet expression to make it drinkable all year around. Many of these quite strong imperials are only reserved for cold and winter, but Tokyo can be enjoyed for a good barbecue dinner a summer evening in the garden. Share it with others, for it is heavy stuff.

Amargor medio-alto

Bottle pour. Pours a cloudy dark black. Incredibly smooth given the ABV. Balanced flavors. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
