Bottle. Very dark brown with a minimal tan head. Aroma has cranberries, red wine and cellar mould. The mouldy part is slightly unpleasant. Taste is big on sweetness and berries, they even overshadow the roastiness and any coffee/chocolate there might have been. Could have been great if the berries were more subdued. It tastes more like a port wine than a stout and it’s probably too sweet even for a port. Overkill is not my thing.

Strong smelling with a sugary alcohol aroma. A wonderfully pleasant taste, almost port like in quality with a to he of roughness from the high alcohol content. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Head: coffee, medium, frothy, fast disappearing. Colour: black with some dark amber highlights. Aroma: super-intense, sweet, dried fruit/berries, chocolate, alcohol, stale. Taste: very sweet dried berries and alcohol, very bitter and spicy as well. Not that boozy for its abv, the sweetness keeps alcohol under control. A very intense beer, but also very hard to drink. They should sell it bottles half the size.

Bottle shared at a tasting at our place. Thanks beerandbeyond for fetching it. Cloudy to opaque muddy brown with tar tan ring. Smoke and cranberry aroma, very fruity with some jasmine tea and then ink and roast. Very heavy, sweet and a little alcoholic, liquor, and maybe a little soy in the mouth. Syrupy, smooth texture, full body and no carbonation.

Dark brown, almost black, pour with a small khaki head. Caramel, herbal (anise?), dark fruit, and booze on the nose. Some brown sugar, roasted malt, and dark chocolate. The flavor is boozy and overly sweet. Caramel, sugar, and licorice. Dark fruit, some roasted malt, and notes of dark chocolate and coffee.

From a 330ml bottle, deep dark pour with a foamy head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, white sugar, wood, cherries and a touch of port. Very sweet to start, unsure at first whether this is a quality brew or just a big sugar rush. It does calm down and I got used to the sweetness and there is a nice balance of flavours. Extra marks for being 18%.

330 ml bottle at home - taken from notes. Colours pitch black with no head. Nose is quite peat, but boozy as well. Body is not that big compare to other beers, that are even lower in alcohol. Taste is okay, but the problem with these beers is the lack of time they have given them to come to their top - not as good as for example the Double Black.

Source : From Brouhaha in Montreal, 330ml bottle. Appearance : Opaque black with shy tan head. Aroma : Rich black cherry, sweet and strong. Taste : Like a train of flavours in your face, I nearly fell off my chair. No trace of that 18.2% of alcohol. Palate : The fun continue, a full mouth of fun. Overall : What a rush, BrewDog are good with publicity, that’s my third products from them and I definitively can say that they are even better as brewers. I have to get some of that Intergalactic beer steady in my cellar...

This is the beer that all stouts want to be. Big, black, (small, quickly evaportating head), fruity, sweet.

Pours quite a light color for an imperial stout. Heavy clobbering of oak and booze in the nose. Taste is like being force fed a mouthful of hot bubba in jail. Hot, thick, very rough and not careful at all. Brutally fantastic.

En fantastisk stout m mkt stor kropp o sötma. Stor smak av russin, fikon, farinsocker o kola. Mkt liten alkoholsmak. En av mina absoluta favoriter!
