Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.

Very interesting and I’ve been anxious to try this for some as I have had this in storage. My bottle looked a little different with Toklo* on the bottle and listing cranberries and jasmine. It did list 18.2 ABV and sure tasted like it. Sweet alcohol and fruit aromas. Very dark with a very fine head. Syrupy palate that coated the mouth. The tastes were all over the place. Wood, sweet, molasses, cranberry, some hops at the end. There was a stomach burn and this would not be for everyone but I enjoyed it.

Almost a barley wine? Raw liquorice, roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate. Doesn’t feel like 18,2% at all. Really enjoyed this one!

Brewdog Tokyo 18% on tap at Yellow Ape’s 2nd Anniversary Event. Listed at 16.5% it pours a viscous pitch black with a thin rusty head. The aroma is a rich umami meaty dark chocolate with winey plum notes. Thick syrupy mouthfeel that is silky smooth, some heat going down. The taste is dark toffee, rum? , Hershey chocolate syrup, dark pitted fruits, dark chocolate you pour on ice cream. Not as complex as Black Tokyo Horizon but really nice.

Pitch black color, average sized brown head. Aroma of dark fruits and chocolate. Full body, soft carbonation. Medium to high sweetness, solid amount of bitterness also. Dark fruits, chocolate and alcohol in taste. Also, there’s a nice woody cognac feel. Smooth texture, very complex character and usual alcohol warmth. Intense as hell, pure force.

Bottle. Pours a deep red - almost black - with a small beige head. Strong aroma of hard roasted malts, chocolate, licorice and alcohol. Taste is pretty much like the aroma indicates but with added notes of dark fruits, oak and vanilla. Full body and low carbonation. Thick and chewy. Very very sweet. Got a bit of an alcohol burn in the finish but that is to be expected. A real sipper. More drinkable for an 18.2% beer than I had expected. Nothing I’d want to drink too often though.

Aroma is quite sweet with typical coffe and bitter chocolate aromas. Taste is very sweet and unbalanced burnt coffe taste. It's almost a bit grainy texture. Mouthfeel is high. There is some alcohol in the taste. Not very impressed.

Butelka 0.33L.

Dark fruit aroma with whisky, pine wood shavings and licorice. Very dark black appearance that’s thick and oily. Similar taste to aromas but with nice alcoholic warmth. Very fine drink for special occasions.

Bottle - Lots of dark roast, soy sweetness and bittersweet chocolate. Deep jet brown with a thin brown head. Soy, Worcester, dark roast, bittersweet chocolate and an oily mouthfeel. Bitter liquorice and sweet berry notes in the finish. Lots going on, sometime less is more.

Bottle. Syrupy pour. No head, liquor pour, I immediately regret this decision. Aroma is hard liquor, rum, did I mention that I feel like Ron Burgundy in the bear cage? Taste is light tart, fruit cake, syrupy, harsh finish, this is one bozey bastard.
