COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Please note this is the second batch of Tokyo, which is different to the 12.5% first batch.

Intergalactic Fantastic Oak Aged Stout
The irony of existentialism, the parody of being and the inherent contradictions of post-modernism, all so delicately conveyed by the blocky, pixelated arcade action have all been painstakingly recreated in this bottles contents.

This imperial stout is brewed with copious amounts of speciality malts, jasmine and cranberries. After fermentation we then dry-hop this killer stout with a bucketload of our favourite hops before carefully ageing the beer on French toasted oak chips.

It is all about moderation. Everything in moderation, including moderation itself. What logically follows is that you must, from time, have excess. This beer is for those times.

Poured 12 oz bottle Heavy alcohol aroma, it knocks you on your ass. Jet black appearance little head. With 18.2 alc. you get a heavy alcohol syrupy notes with little else.

Pours a very dark brown color, almost black, topped with an average tan colored head. There’s a roasted aroma, some notes of caramel and fruits and quite some alcohol. Taste is sweet, roasty. Slightly fruity with bittery finish. Quite some alcohol which gives that burning feel in the aftertaste. A bit too strong for my taste.

Near black in colour, small tan head, light lacing, small alcohol legs. Aroma is of liquorice, alcohol, burnt malts, chocolate. Flavour is of alcohol, chocolate, some sweetness, burnt malts. Alcoholic mouthfeel, medium body, mild carbination. Finishes hot. Too alcoholic.

Flaska med bäst före 2021 (Batch 010). Svart, lätt trögflytande öl med bara mycket lätt skum. Doft av mörk choklad, kaffe och fatlagrad sprit. Samma återkommer i smaken.

Bottle share. Thanks GothGargoyle! 2012. Aroma of young prune juice, red grape, alcohol, wood. Taste is oddly salty, a bit tart, and sweet. Sticky. Yummy.

Pours a deep copper body that to my surprise is clear. The head is quite small, light brown, and sticks a bit to the glass before it ends up as a partially covering film. The aroma is intense and complex. It’s roasted with notes of dark caramel, but also plenty of dark dried fruits, especially raisins. There is also vanilla, and the aroma feels vinous and alcoholic (but not overly so). Intense flavour of raisins and prunes, sweet caramel, vanilla and lots of pleasantly warming alcohol. It’s surprisingly lightly roasted for an imperial stout of this strength, but it works. Finally I get some herbal hints in the long-lasting finish. This is very sweet stuff, but it’s also heavy bitter, so it’s fairly well balanced. The body is full, the texture is oily and the carbonation is soft. A fun and special beer that was a good contrast to the beer I enjoyed prior to this: the BrewDog Nanny State.

Aroma : Dried fruits, licorice.
Appearance : Opaque black color. Medium, dark brown head.
Taste : Medium sweet, alcohol spicy, fruity, light licorice.
Palate : Full body. Sticky texture. Strong warming, bitter finish.
Overall : Very strong, but still drinkable and not unpleasant. My strongest beer so far.

D’un noir profond avec un col qui se dissipe rapidement. Une explosions de saveurs, un liquide très complexes, chocolat, café,bois, bourbon, pain grillés,fruits rouges. Le % d’alcool est très bien caché. Une excellente Imperial Stout!
