2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 Ernest (5183) - Boulder, USA - JUL 18, 2011
Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (burnt caramel, roasted grain, molasses), with a strong note of rubbing alcohol, lesser notes of sherry, cardboard, vanilla.
Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, heavily to harshly alcoholic.
Ugh. Awful. Bruising alcohol and oxidation rule the nose, not enticing at all. The mouth experience is just syrupy sticky sweetness with a ton of afterburn from the raging alcohol. About as crude and clumsy as Imperial stouts get, but of course this is from a brewery that just doesn’t do this style well. Glad I got this on sale but any price is still too much. Drain pour.

Distinctive nose with a big slab of dark fruits and strong roasted malts with an sharp note of alcohol. Brandy notes in the mouth with a complex spirit like booze with hints of dark fortified wine tempered by an oakey smoothness. One of my favourites.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Gerbeer (130) - vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 25, 2012
330ml bottle from Big Ridge. Pours a very dark brown with very thin tan head. Dry dark chocolate aroma with fruity hints. Fiery dark chocolate taste to start and a wacky hard to define finish. Hot with alcohol - like eating chocolates infused with rum or brandy. Not really for me - alcohol overload for a stout.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 calm_dreamer (10) - GREECE - MAY 22, 2012
This has to be the most weird yet interesting imperial stout i’ve tasted. The taste of berry in combination with the aroma of jasmine, berry and maybe wine makes comes with a nice body and no head, even though the carbonation appears on the tongue. It all results in an awesome beer directly for what it was meant to be drunk with, space invaders. Ultra recomended when you want to get out of "regular" and go for something that you will remember.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 grunx (277) - - MAY 22, 2012
Molt bona Imperial Stout. Intensa, aromàtica, cremosa, llarga. I de les més econòmiques dins del seu estil. Es pot demanar més?
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Hirotoma (233) - Bologna, ITALY - MAY 19, 2012
Birra a dir poco misteriosa!

Keg at Brewdog. Blackish Brown with a red hue and a creamy head. Aroma is very sweet and burning of alcohol. Flavour has a lot going on . Really oversweet with a slightly unpleasant mix of sweet acidity and coffee bitterness. Cranberry is a good shout. Tangy with rampant alcohol. Turps. Quite difficult to drink much of but undeniably complex.
