2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
11.2 oz bottle served in a snifter
A - Pours pitch black with a dark esspresso head
S - Astringent bakers chocolate, booze, licorice, tobacco, dank earthy hay, old malts,
T - Wow! Super sweet(Iím talking diabetic coma sweet!) licorice, syrup, concentrated grape juice, straight raw brown sugar, sweet tobacco juice, tart fruit helps out a little with the cloying sweetness. Finishes with a peppery alcohol bite.
M - Heavy sugary body, low carbonation, cloyingly sweet.
This one is hard to drink. Sweet does nothing to describe this sugary substance. Thank God there was some tartness in there to combat it. Thereís good flavors in there but is just overtaken with the sweetness. I wanted to like this but this is a mess.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle. Pours black with a ruby hue rim and a thin brown foam that resides in a ring. Scent is hickory smoke. Vanilla. Maybe oak wood. Light resin. Light caramel. Taste is hickory, vanilla, dense resin, and dense cranberries. Smokey wood finish. Flavors of cherries. Some sour notes. Mouthfeel is outrageously smooth. Fantastic. Shoutout to @AshtonMcCobb at Appellation Wines - cheers to my third perfect score.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle at pub. Pours oily black with medium beige head. Aroma has licorice, caramel, dried fruits, vanilla and some roastiness. Taste is strong sweet caramel with vanilla. Subtle hops and malts. Strong caramel in the end. Extremely full palate. Thick bodied. Medium carbonation. Long finish. Amazing. I would say this is one of the gods of beers but I am an atheist so it would not describe this beast enough.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Piwo czarno brunatne bez refleksow z niezbyt obfita piana. W aromacie wszystko co powinno byc w RISie. Wanilia, ciemne dojrzale owoce, palone slody, nuty beczki i szlachetngo alkoholu. W smaku slodko, czekolada z kawa, toffee i guma balonowa. Bardzo geste i oleiste, pelne cialo, grzeje konkretnie w gardlo. Degustowac powoli bo zawarty alkohol moze byc naprawde zdradliwy.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Oak. My first impression upon cracking the cap of this five year-old Imperial Stout is the deep, rich tones of oak. Vanilla; tart, over-ripened fruits, and rich chocolates are all abundant as I pour the brew into my favorite snifter. I watch the beer cascade into the glass, the ruby-nut brown liquid is only visible for half and inch before the density of the color overtakes the light and smothers the color to almost midnight. A khaki head starts large, but dissipates to a seething rings around the inside of the glass, a single islet swirling slowly in the center of the beer.
A single drop escapes the pour and I canít allow it to free itself from the neck of the bottle entirely, so I catch it with my tongue. As rich as a liqueur, even a drop is powerful. I sip gently at the rim, cautious but excited at the taste of this brew. Given to me by a friend, this has been carefully aged for five long years, and I am the recipient of such a delicious gift. I expect a raging lion; rather, the taste is smooth and only slightly ferocious; surprising, considering the ABV and the dragon-esque presence of the aroma. With each tip of the glass, I pull harder...deeper, eventually filling my mouth with the heady brew, savoring the viscous nature of the body and delighting in the slight sting on my gums and the edges of my lips. The cranberries are obtainable through the oak, the chocolates, and I am relishing the differences between the olfactory exploration and the flavor profile. Although I can feel the warmth of the alcohol flooding my body, the booze is difficult to decipher in either the aroma or the taste of this excellent beer.
The finish is short and easy, welcoming...dangerous at 18.2%. The oak lingers...delicious. I have never had this fresh, and Iím not sure I would try it again without some age.

Bottle, 330 ml from Svijet Piva. Shared with Miro. Pours black, small brown head. Oily. Roasted malts, chocolate, licorice, wood, dried fruit notes. Sweet. Alcohol is present, unfortunately more than Iíd like. Medium+ bodied. Interesting, but expected and hoped it would be better.
