One of the best Imperial Stouts available, pure rich velvet roast flavours. Magic brew, well worth the price and delivery costs. Special occasion indulgence! Big cheers to the Scottish chaps
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Arcanor (23) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 7, 2013
Source : From Brouhaha in Montreal, 330ml bottle.
Appearance : Opaque black with shy tan head.
Aroma : Rich black cherry, sweet and strong.
Taste : Like a train of flavours in your face, I nearly fell off my chair. No trace of that 18.2% of alcohol.
Palate : The fun continue, a full mouth of fun.
Overall : What a rush, BrewDog are good with publicity, that’s my third products from them and I definitively can say that they are even better as brewers. I have to get some of that Intergalactic beer steady in my cellar...

An intensely sweet sugar aroma. Very strong. Looks great. First sip is very sweet and very rich. The finish isn’t as heavy though, which is nice. While knowing it’s strong, this is smoother to drink than Goose Island’s behemoth stout. Too bad this is so pricy. Definitely could age for awhile too.

Draught The Rake Borough Market. Pretty damn dark with a small beige head. I imagine that with a larger sample than the third pint which The Rake was allowing that the head would have been more impressive but c’est la vie. It must be far easier to brew a beast of a beer like this than it is to brew Edge which I drank earlier in the session, but with beasts come massive mistakes and car crashes. This ain’t no car crash though; it’s a sublimely smooth ride of a beer which really does take you on a journey. Everything about it is delicious. The fruitiness; the depth; the coziness of the leather armchair from that dusty library that you can smell together with the aged bound books. Lots of silt from the coal fire. The winter of discontent. They are all there. Licorice, spice, lots of wooomph and warmness. Categorically no alcohol burn at all. Mouth filling and heart filling. Boozy but bootiful. Considering my head wasn’t in the right place due to worrying about my Dad 500 miles away in a Doctor’s surgery suffering with the flu, this beer somehow seemed to be the right thing to drink. £6 well spent for the experience of it all.

On tap at Stone 14th Anniversary - When I first put my nose into this, I felt a little overloaded. All the typical imperial stout aromas and tastes, but throw in oak, hints of jasmine and a touch of alcohol. As the beer warmed, the oak and the serious ABV started to come out, but this beer never tasted like the 18.2% it is. Two bottles of this would be trouble. Full-bodied and somewhat creamy. Very nice beer.

Very dark color. No head, no carbonation. Rich whiskey and aromas. Same as taste with the oak in presence. Very strong beer that I shared with two other friends. One of the best of its kind....but for sure not the one you chose everyday.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 leaparsons (7129) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2013 Bottle. Near black with an oily slick on top and a thin beige foam. Aromas are peppery alcohol with floral and herbal notes. Rare for a beer in that it smells sweet. Berries with leather, peat and chocolate. Flavours are sweet berries and parma violets with cola. Sweet and dark chocolate and its bitterness with more berries coming through. Rich roast malts, somehow not coffee, with liquorice and peat. Very warming but non-aggressive alcohol towards the finish with brandy and more chocolate. Brilliant.
